"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

Sleep walking? Nope. Charging at full femist speed.

They begin by throwing men under the bus. With no advertised services why would men ask for help?

Suicide remains the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45, a statistic aided by a resistance to ask for help

Many suicides are tied to loss of custody in divorce. Where is that in the title. "Support for divorced men"?

More like swimming in it.

In driving the sexes apart, feminism has alienated men, causing all sorts of male mental health problems. But the stress of taking on male roles ignites an inferno of mental health problems for women, becoming apparent as the economy falls apart through high energy costs, blowing holes in standards of living. The UK is one country which is in full blown recession as a result. Of course, the notoriously feminist BBC features an article today (27th September), inviting us to sympathise with the fact that women are having to take on second jobs to pay the childcare fees! You can't make this stuff up!!! Quote from a Ms Harford: "I felt I had no choice. If I didn't have the stress of having to take a second job, I could be around the kids more, which is important while they're still young."

Maybe there was something to be said for the days when men and women worked together as a unit, for the benefit of their families. One thing's for sure, ladies - if you endeavour to live the life of a man, you will come to know the causes of unhappiness in a man.

Bruh… we’re here.

People don’t really care.

You’ve gotta make sure you’re actively connected to your immediate social circle.

Not exactly sleepwalking but only women get help. I’d say it’s more like shoving us down a hill and at the bottom is the mental health crisis.

[–]MultistanForLife1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

What do you mean "only women get help?" The article says that more women seek help, but that’s an different thing entirely

[–]_BlueShark87 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well some men are denied aid or given less support than women.

We are in the midst of a massive worldwide mental health crisis and no one will call it what it is. Mass murders (gun, knives, explosives) are common place, school shootings are impacting schools from every corner of the world, suicides are through the roof, and there's no where to go for people who are struggling.

My friend had a mental health episode that required a 3 day stay in a psychiatric hospital. When they released her, they dropped the ball and didn't book her support therapist after telling her they did, she showed up to the appointment and they didn't have anything for her, so the soonest she could get rescheduled was 5 months later. The psych hospital then sent her a bill for $7000, after insurance, that she can't afford, so on top of her deteriorating mental health she's now $7,000 in debt and hasn't even started getting the help she needs. She's decided she can't go back to that hospital in the future if that is the price tag she'll be facing.

Like, I'm at a complete loss for her, I don't have a clue of what she could do other than self medicating (which obviously I'm not going to tell her to do that)

Yeah more like nosediving into it. Men have basically been screaming for help but the world just called us misogynists, regardless if we were or not.

Mental health care for everyone(men and women alike)is in lousy shape, thanks to a dearth of providers who are thoroughly trained in the only form of psychotherapy which has any empirical support: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and all of it's many branches. Don't anticipate Generically Red Pill folk(including most of today's prominent MRAs )to display any more enthusiasm than True Believers in Woke Thought have shown for getting more shrinks trained in CBT though, The cornerstone of this modality is getting folks to treat their own thoughts and beliefs like hypotheses that must be tested for falsifiability. Red Pill Theory and Woke Thought are both revealed to be little more than 1/8 true when they're subjected to such interrogation

Big man
Or so he thought....

Pretty much. When one starts pressing The Woke and The Red Pilled alike to define jargon like Systemic Racism and Gynocentrism, then interrogating the basis of their belief in such things, their respective ideologies crumble

I’m “red pilled” and can easily answer your queries. From where do you get the idea that it is less than 1/8 true? Curious about this.

[–]mechajutaro 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I've no doubt that you and everyone else who describes themselves as Red Pill believes that you're definition of that term is The Truth, even though every Red Piller has a different definition and concepuatlaxizition of TRP

The theory starts crumbling, the minute we start digging into jargon like "Gynocentrism(Red Pill Theory's equivalent to The Woke notion of White CIS Hegemony. There terms can mean anything, or nothing, and thus get hurled at everything we find objectionable), and asking True Believers "What do you mean by that, and where's evidence?"

[–]NutsLikeMelons 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Your comment makes no sense as you are telling me what I think. And you’re wrong. And nobody calls themselves a “true believer”. It’s not a cult. It’s a set of evidence based ideas.

Your comment makes no sense as you are telling me what I think.

Feel free to share your definition and conceptualization of what The Red Pill is then

And you’re wrong

Just saying something doesn't make it true, especially if you don't provide damning evidence to back up your assertion. Otherwise, saying "And you're wrong" is the equivalent of saying "You're wrong when you say Jesus didn't rise from the dead. It's true, because my dogma dictates that it's true"

And nobody calls themselves a “true believer”.

No one except for those who recognize all the parallels between self-described Red Pillers and all the things that Eric Hoffer described all those years ago https://www.nononsenseselfdefense.com/cults.htm

It’s not a cult.

The Red Pill is definitely displaying enough warning flags for us to be apprehensive. Whether or not TRP can be accurately described as a cult, it's definitely's become a full blown religion, complete with scripture, a creation story, questions which are considered heretical to ask, and it's own vision of a coming Apocalypse

It’s a set of evidence based ideas.

Again, just saying "These ideas are evidence based" doesn't make them so. This is similar to the folks who run The Creationist Museum asserting that the Earth is only 2,000 years old, then taking a handful of lines from Paleontology journals out of context, exaggerating, and calling this sort of chicanery "proof" that their beliefs are true
