Men need to stop whiteknighting. If a woman is man enough to hit a man, she is man enough to get hit back.

[–]WingsofSky 61 points62 points63 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree. It's just empowering women to commit more violence.

[–]randomguy7277 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Which is their goal

[–]randomguy7277 36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago* (39 children) | Copy Link

This 1000%. Should have instantly been beaten down in self defense once she stabbed him, until submission.

[+]Waratah888 -24 points-23 points-22 points 3 years ago* (38 children) | Copy Link

Nah, once she's disarmed etc it goes beyond self defence and is then retaliation.

I agree is easy to be wise in hindsight, but he would have been better getting out of there, getting wounds fixed and hope the justice system takes care of her.

She has a case to say needed broken bottle to defend herself late in that clip.

[–]randomguy7277 26 points27 points28 points 3 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

Nah even if disarmed, if she is fighting, and does not submit aka stop, keep pounding. Fist are assault too. You have the right to defend yourself.

[+]Waratah888 -17 points-16 points-15 points 3 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

She was away from him 5 seconds after stabbing him, he went after her then.

No issues with him smashing seven shades of shit out of her or anyone else WHILE being attacked ( during an attack), but he made a decision from about 5m away, safety, to put himself back in her reach. Retaliation . It makes it harder to argue self defence.

[–]randomguy7277 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s why i said SHOULD HAVE, on the first stab, been beaten to submission. Don’t got to white knight the comments bro, I get it, I must be an evil man because I would have defended myself /s

[–]w_cruice 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

This fits the law, but the law is an ass most of the time. To divorce cause and effect that way is insane, which is why lawyers are fond of it. It excuses their clients, or it allows a prosecutor to make a "that ugh on crime" name for themselves, so they can seek public office and fuck things up even more.

If the law says, "She stabbed him, and went away, so he has to sit there and bleed," that law is immoral. It MUST be changed. We're not talking even a 10 minute break, or a "imma get mah gun," we're talking about a law meant to compartmentalize the actions and reactions. This is the path to anarchotyranny, where the law means what they want it to mean, when they want it to mean that, and means something else five seconds later. Because they say so.

By this logic, every step in a fight could be a separate charge, and everything that precipitated the fight, or the assailant's aggressions against the defender, never happened.

[–]Waratah888 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

The law maybe an ass, but the alternative cam be found in say The Congo.

The key thing is reasonable force. It was completely reasonable to hit or whatever to stop a stabbing. Not afterwards.

[–]w_cruice -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And she decides to finish the job, and he has to have his head on a swivel the rest of his life? You Lawn'Order types are a joke.

[–]Icy_Brother_6750 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Right. So you're on the train of thought that "if somebody attacks you, walk away" by the sounds of it. THIS DOESNT WORK. She's at a higher risk of hunting him down if he tried to escape. One could also argue, it would be reasonable force, since you know, he was being stabbed without provocation that he grabbed a weapon himself. You're a shitty incel that desperately wants a woman to pick him. Get yourself a girl like this. You deserve it.

[–]Waratah888 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago* (19 children) | Copy Link

Anyone who's default response to someone who disagrees with them is an insult isn't worth time responding.

And reread my posts. Position is clearly CAN and should defend self WHILE being attacked.

CAN NOT retaliate once the danger has passed. She was retreating, there were others able to intervene if she reattacked. There was ample opportunity to retire, get police or security etc.

If you want no rule of law, move to Russia or Congo.

[–]Icy_Brother_6750 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (18 children) | Copy Link

Again, literally what should a person do if they've been stabbed, or attacked? Should they just let the person leave once they've stabbed them? Are they allowed to just walk away after stabbing someone? Nah, if you've been attacked without provocation, you should and are able to retaliate. Think for a moment, it's perfectly legal for someone to restrain someone that's attempting to flee a crime. Also, would you say the same to women who attack their abuser once they fell asleep? No, they're regarded as heros. You're picking sides because a woman committed an offense and a man defended himself. Or are you saying these women who attack their abusers should be charged with assault too?

Edit: I've read through more of your posts here, and you still seem to be on the side the man is at fault. You've even said "he should just move to a safer location" this is victim blaming at its finest. Nobody should be attacked like this regardless of gender, but with people like yourself trying to find ways for men to be at fault is horrifying. This isn't a thread or subreddit for you, because obviously you're not here for mens rights. You're here to blame men.

[–]OpenMindedOtter 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Nah, once she's disarmed etc it goes beyond self defence and is then retaliation.

So what? Actions have consequences.

[–]Ok-Obligation5243 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, it's called the law.

[–]Temporary_Spend_3111 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Its recorded had he not retaliated now shes facing attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

Now she has a chance to claim domestic violence and is guaranteed to not serve the time she would had he not retaliated.

Now do you want short term satisfaction(he being beaten then and there)

Or long term satisfaction (her life being essentially over doing hard labor for the state)

[–]odysseytree 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

she's disarmed etc it goes beyond self defence and is then retaliation.

Who made this rule that you are not supposed to teach someone a lesson when they stop hitting you?

[–]Temporary_Spend_3111 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Someone who understood weapons are involved.

Bruh he literally put himself in a shitter situation then necessary.

Had she got his neck instead of his face that little "teaching someone a lesson" ideology could have gotten himself killed.

And she would have had an argument for self defense cause of how the nature of the law works.

We arent fucken animals mate. Cant just go berserk and do what we want when we feel its justified. Need to think of the bigger picture.

[–]randomgivenname 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

No actually, in case of assault with a deadly weapon you can kill the person and still claim self-defense. That's because you have a legitimate reason to think your life is in danger.

[–]_BlueShark87 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He’s probably get a life sentence for murder

[–]Temporary_Spend_3111 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not in this particular scenario. Your understanding of the law appears to be limited. Might be worth going over it again.

[–]randomguy7277 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, in many states you can stand your ground.

A stand-your-ground law provides that people may use deadly force when they reasonably BELIEVE IT TO BE necessary to defend against certain violent crimes. Under such a law, people have NO DUTY TO RETREAT using deadly force in self-defense, so long as they are in a place where they are lawfully present.

[–]Temporary_Spend_3111 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Stand your grounds requirements have not been met by any requirements from any states definition in this scenario.

[–]randomguy7277 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I disagree, once stabbed, a reasonable person would believe it to be necessary to use deadly force. Especially since it was so close to his face. And that’s all it takes.

[–]RandomedOne 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn't call senseless violence a "man".

Courage to show it is man, but senseless violence itself is far more "women" than "man".

[+]Ok-Obligation5243 -13 points-12 points-11 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you use force, I can't remember verbatim, but in a nutshell force used has to be justified, if a woman attacks me, you can't go full Rambo and justify it. She attacked me so I curb stomped her. You just need to disable the threat. A friend had a smashed bottle swung at him by a female and he punched her and knocked her out. Justified because it's a lethal weapon. "On a scale of 1-10 how hard did you hit her?" "11, she had a lethal weapon". Saying if she can give a punch she should take a punch is wrong. That's not white knight behaviour, that's the law. And it's not just women. A 150kg bloke shouldn't knock out a 70kg 18 yo student just because he swung for him. Remember, to be truly good, we have to be capable of evil and know when not to use it. That is good in its truest form. So I ask, are we here to bitch and moan and cry like children, or are we here to amend wrongs done to men and be a force for good? Side note, I haven't read the article, but from the title, this is just wrong. In a world of 7 billion genders and everyone being equal, there shouldn't be a difference between male and female. It should be case by case of individuals.

[–]_BlueShark87 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree you can’t murder them but if anyone tried to stab me I’d teach them a lesson.

[–]Ok-Obligation5243 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He shouldn't have gone in for seconds really, but following the smashed bottle, she was a threat to life and so she needed to be stopped. The issue is he pursued and developed the situation. If he'd just left and reported it, she would be the one going to court.

[–]w_cruice 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She should be going to court for attempted murder regardless.

[–]blaizken_420 54 points55 points56 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where are the feminist concerns over men not being allowed to defend themselves from women?

[–]lemons7472 47 points48 points49 points 3 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Why the hell was the dude in the reddish shirt trying so hard to restrict the man? Why was the male taken to jail? Redshirt just watched her stab him multiple times separately, one with a knife multiple times, and one with a glass bottle, but him hitting her back was what put you into action mode to help HER out? I don’t care if he decide to hit her back or if he’s stronger, the women is the one who should be stopped for stabbing the husband. Idk man, you shouldn’t heavily injure (in this case attempt to murder) someone like that and then get saved for it by a witness.

Edit: he did grab the knife back, but still, how about you don’t stab the person, and then you won’t have to worry about the person taking the knife after you stabbed them. Anyways I guess he got arrested for the threat and hitting back, and the woman is let off completely free, despite the dude getting stabbed and looking in way worse shape thanks to her. Fuck the guy in the red shirt for this. Dude witnesses a stabbing, and decided to restrain the victim.

[–]turbulance4[S] 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's pretty crazy out there.

I don't even care so much he got arrested, tho he definitely should have been hospitalized first.. I care that anyone (in this case a woman) gets to stab someone who wasn't currently a threat and get off scot-free.

[–]lemons7472 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If they both got arrested for question to get more context, (and because the women acted in violence first) then I’d feel better about that part, but nope, it’s just him. That’s just straight up getting away with attempted murder.

[–]strat77x 38 points39 points40 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

One of my buddies in Arizona got stabbed by his wife. Caused him to have a stroke. When they got divorced her lawyer argued his infirmity due to the stroke would make him a poor custodian of their kid. She got custody and he never saw his kid again.

[–]EvidencePlz 29 points30 points31 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

And they call me gay and incel because I refuse to get married, have kids etc. Lol

Stay strong. My buddy was one of the most promising guys I know (college at 16) and now he's a broken husk in his 40's.

Wow..just wow

Believe it or not.....get stabbed......straight to jail.

[+]Waratah888 -11 points-10 points-9 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If he goes to gaol it will be because he retaliated well after he was safe.

Should've got out when she was 5m away and let police handle her.

[–]CorvusBlackstone 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Emyhatsich 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That knife didn’t even penetrate his skin, how so? Even though, it’s absolutely disgusting

[–]BRS3577 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm so confused. It looks like they both stabbed each other with a knife? But there's no blood or signs of lacerations/punctures till the dude takes a bottle in the face

[–]CorvusBlackstone 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The president of my country got stabbed when he was on campaign, depending on the place of the stab, the blood wont come out

[–]turbulance4[S] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think you are right, maybe I shouldn't have posted this. There seems to be no blood from the first few "stabbings". Maybe the knife is more like a butter knife. Maybe it's more of a blunt object. However from :35 after the bottle gets used there is def some blood spilling.

[–]BRS3577 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah idk man. I mean it definitely looks like that initial stabbing was with a vengeance, it wasn't a joke gone wrong. But when he grapples her after the bottle it looks like he's stabbing her too yet still no blood until he backs up and you can see where the bottle hit him

[–]bfte2 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Stabs in the back a few times, breaks a bottle, stabs the neck....

Yup, she's definitely the victim here.

[–]DaLordOfDarkness 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Once again, society let the wife get away with crimes.

[–]PonderingMan33 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right to self defense is a conditional right. Condition being you are not a man. It's like men are created to be cannon fooder.

[–]Waratah888 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If people generally follow the law there's less violence yeah?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She's a fucking coward for that. At least he got a few hits outta her.

[–]Arrathall1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

This is why you get a gun boys. The simp wouldnt be able to do shit if you immediately shoot her head off the moment she is out of melee range.

[–]w_cruice 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Courts will see that as murder regardless. Not that I'm defending the shyster lawyers and the count courts.

[–]Arrathall -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Considering she holds a knife... He has a case

[+]Temporary_Spend_3111 -16 points-15 points-14 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Honestly why he was arrested makes sense. You can see where it went from self defense to assault

She should have absolutely been tackled and disarmed though. Thats where the sexism was here not him being arrested.

She also should have been arrested for attempted murder with a deadly weapon.

Another bit of sexism.

But he went out of his way to assault her in retaliation when he had ample opportunity to call 911 to remove himself from the situation.

Can i see myself in his shoes the anger and betrayal of being stabbed in the back litterally. Yes.

But you need to know the law and why we have the law.

Protest the ones that dont make sense or are sexist. Abide by the ones that are concrete.

Assault especially in a public place is one of them.

[–]jnex26 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Actually the way self defence laws work is along the basis you can attack and keep attacking if you fear for your life.

[–]Temporary_Spend_3111 -3 points-2 points-1 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thats inherently untrue. Look you can clearly see im not fuckin retarded and brainwashed by looking at my comments in other posts here in this subreddit but yall are stretching if you think hes justified legally by continuing to put himself in danger close distance and proceed to attack her in retaliation. Thats not self defense thats assault.

Does it make sense? Yes id do a similar thing. But i wouldnt expect anyone to bitch in my defense when i should be taking accoutability for my actions.

What op should be pointing out rather then his innocence is her lack of accountability.

You fuckers need to chose your words carefully otherwise we are giving ammo to the brainwashed misandarists who would just love another reason for reddit to take down this sub.

This is one of those instances where we hold each other accountable and say to ourselves. Lets watch the entire video read the relevant literature available and think it through before saying "hes innocent and did nothing wrong to be detained"

When he clearly fucked up and again closed distance attacked in retaliation when he should have sought distance and only attacked in self defense.

Once she backed up he had the upper hand provided he held his distance.

Any way you look at this. He made a bad choice. And that of course is leading to detainment.

She of course should have been incarcerated for attempted murder with a deadly weapon and served the same time as a man would for the same crime.

Also instead of passively down voting this and keeping quiet. Let me know your thoughts. This is a place of discourse

[–]45spinner -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Moral of the story cops are dumb and useless even in Portugal which is where this happened. Apparently they were both drunk he threatened her and then she stabbed him, cops didn't do their job at all and arrested him rather than take actual testimony from the looks of it because again cops are useless bastards.

[+]Bernard245 -21 points-20 points-19 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So, I do advocate male self defense against women, but in this specific altercation, there was no need for him to engage her while she was running away. I'm not saying I don't understand, but, he let the situation escalate when he had an opportunity to stop or deescalate. The police should have been called and he should have been provided medical aid, and the crowd, which got involved in the end, should have separated the two when they had multiple opportunities to do so.

But it is weird that there is no word on the woman who initiated the attack. They probably didn't get the order of events wrong and took her to hospital first.

I don't know if anyone saw her stab him in the beginning, and he appeared to shrug it off. He was at the bar, so the crowd probably thought he was drunk and didn't even know what happened.

[–]randomguy7277 28 points29 points30 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

“He let the situation escalate when he had the opportunity…” sounds like victim blaming

[–]unbreakablepal 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't "sound " like victim blaming. It is 100% victim blaming.

[–]WingsofSky 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or maybe they saw and knew what happened. But just took her side regardless. Since she was a woman.

He literally looked confused when he saw she stabbed him. His own wife of course he’d be shocked. In public too, she then tries to run away and then hides behind the men of course. And of course you get stabbed, literally attempted murder your gonna be pissed and want to hit the person back. Wtf who wants to be murder and not hurt the person attacking them. And the guy that hold him back, there’s always that one guy that has to white knight. For him to be arrested is wild. He probably got serious damage in his back and more blood loss from the broken bottle. But not send him to prison for hitting his wife. Obviously he should just let her murder him without fighting back
