I (15M) have autism. I’ve always been a very friendly person, but most of the time I get heavily outcasted from the rest of the world. I barely had any friends during school because of how awkward my personality was due to my autism. This has lead me into a life of being raised by the internet, hanging out in some... pretty bad groups. (Liveleak, 4chan, etc.) I’ve disconnected myself from that part of the internet, thankfully. I’m still desperately trying to make friends, but I’ve always dramatically failed at doing so. The people I’ve tried to befriend have usually felt weirded out by me or have tried using manipulative behaviors towards me.

Whenever I see an autistic girl, they seem to have such a happy life. They’re surrounded by friends and people who love them, and they’re often admired for their fun and creative personalities. But than there’s me, the awkward outcast who is either always viewed as a dumbass or a weirdo. Whenever I do actually make real friends, I value them with my life. I will do anything to be able to keep them around for as long as possible, and that quality is what attracts the fake and manipulative friends. We need to tear down these bullshit social standards geared against autistic boys and start giving them the same social opportunities that are given to autistic girls.
