Ideally, one would have both traits. Anyone that is purely passive or purely assertive would be an absolute pain to be around.

a mix of both is the ideal, so much that i fail to see point of this question as these traits arent mutually exclusive

I'm pretty passive, so I'd probably do best with an assertive person.

But when I do have a stance on something, I take it seriously. Basically I usually don't care what restaurant we go to or whatever, but on the rare occasion I do care about the decision being made I want my opinion seriously considered. Not saying I have to win, but I need to be able to make my case.

Goes with the flow. Soft spoken. Able to calmly and non-confrontationally assert their boundaries and opinions. That’s my ideal.

Less willing to walk away. That is more important than any other trait.

A relationship only exists as long as none of us walks away from it. I can improve on anything that exist. I can't do anything about something that no longer exists.

In order to be good a relationship must first of all, exist.

In order for a relationship to be worth enough to improve upon and become something actually important in my life it must be stable, as in its existence should not be in question. Ever.

I don't like passive/submissive/"going with the flow" people in general. I want a gf and not a dog.
