It seems small dainty man hands are a massive dealbreaker for women so it's a cause of insecurity for many men. Personally, I wanted to do something about it for a long time.

Unfortunately, any source you can find will tell you that you can't increase the size of your hands. Their reasoning is that hand size mostly comes down to the size of the bones that make up your palm and unlike muscles, you can't increase bone size with exercise. However, I don't think they're looking at the whole picture here. Bone thickness can and does fluctuate. I used to give credence to the notion that bones grow thicker after healing from fracture, but studies (mostly) disprove that and tbh I probably wouldn't be going around purposefully breaking my fingers ngl.

I did say bone thickness can fluctuate tho and that much might be true. Depending on the level of stress that's applied to the bone it might become weaker or stronger. For example, astronauts return from space with lower bone density because little to no stress was applied to them for a long time. On the flip side, athletes have been recorded to develop higher bone density in their dominant arm/leg.

With this in mind, would it be possible to increase the size of your hands by putting pressure on the bones of your palm (e.g. punching without gloves and/or hand wraps) and thus increasing the bone density in that area? Does increased bone density tanslate into visible increase in size or was I just making a false equivalency?

Any thoughts or maybe experiences on this?
