I am divorced.

Like most women I thought being married was the goal. When I got divorced it was like I broke out of prison.

The movie Shaw Shank redemption was my go to film, my mantra.

I was Angie Dufresne.

My ex husband was a combination of characters, the crooked judge, the warden, the "sisters", even Red all rolled into one.

In the end it was all behind me. It was just me and what I could accomplish for myself.

To this day nothing has ever been sweeter than the taste of my freedom.

To just get in my car and go to another city, another state, or if I was ambitious another country.

To sleep in a fancy hotel, or under the stars...to sleep alone. Where ever I wanted.

I had to give up a lot of security, and a lot of luxury.

It was worth it.

So I look back at the Red Pill in astonishment at a bunch of people who have no idea how hard some of us have had to work for the privilege of being single.

This too though, sometimes you can't really appreciate your freedom until it's been taken away for a long time.

Sometimes I do think about going back to married life, but I don't know if I could, or would even want too.

It's not "great". It's just not.
