Hi ladies, I’m 28 + with a loving man who has dropped hints of proposing soon. My question is this: have you ladies had to deal with friendship breakups over severe lifestyle changes???? I’ve always been a girl’s girl, but something has changed a bit since I returned to the USA (I lived abroad for 1.5 years), and I immediately met my bf. I love him to death. When I turned 27, I felt like I had gone through a crisis; I had serial dated many many men, and actually wanted to find one that I could settle down with. Up until that time, I would go out with my girlies + do the whole party thing, but after 27 I realized that actually, a lot of my harmful behaviors came from unhealed trauma, and my girlfriends are the same. But, when I met my boyfriend and he actually helped me identify some of the traumas I had + has helped me to work through them, I realize that some of my closest girlfriends who are partying often, badmouthing men all the time and hating their lives are actually living out traumas more than anything. It breaks my heart. I feel as though I’m preparing to be a wife, which comes with more responsibilities + expectations that I feel blessed to learn with a man I love, but… it seems like my friends don’t want to listen to me or change their lifestyles. I worry they’ll be left behind.

I also just want to say that, as a young woman who has had extensive education and an excellent upbringing… this group has definitely made me feel not insane and even beautiful in my life choices to aspire to be a good mom and a loving wife. Thank you for that.
