Domestic violence reality check for the 'manosphere'

The article is riddled with vague allusions and weasel phrases:

"According to one men's rights group website [which one?]"
"These groups cherry pick studies with dubious methodology [Who does this? And which studies?]"
"The studies they cite [Again - exactly who does this? And which studies?]"
"Men's rights groups claim that such statistics are meaningless because males are less likely to report domestic violence [Who says this?]
"(or femo-nazis, to use the term preferred by many) [Many? How many? As far I'm aware, it's a term first used by Rush Limbaugh, and is still mainly used by traditionalists, not MRAs]"

Notice also the threat-narrative construction (bold added by me) in which violent language is casually associated with the target of the rhetorical attack:

"aggressive men's rights groups blame women..."
"The time has come, they say, to knock women off their pedestal"
"Men's rights groups are using domestic violence victims as pawns in a larger game",
"The misrepresentation of domestic violence as gender-neutral is dangerous for a number of reasons"
"perhaps most dangerously of all, the claims of men's rights groups downplay the amount and impact of domestic violence on women."

Finally, the first link is broken. All in all, I'd say this was little more than a badly-written smear piece and blatant political propaganda. If people genuinely want to know the truth about DV, I'd suggest looking into the largest meta-analysis ever done - PASK. Here's John Hamel explaining their findings. If someone wishes to address this work, I'd suggest contacting John Hamel and his team directly. But the idea of it being 'cherry picking' to cite this massive meta-analysis is, quite frankly, preposterous. You can't cherry-pick a meta-analysis! That's kinda the point. A meta-analysis can be flawed for all sorts of reasons, but the act of referring to them can't, by definition, be cherry-picking.

From the Article: "Furthermore, research consistently shows that 'men's violence is six times more likely to inflict severe injury and is more humiliating, coercive and controlling. Women's violence is more likely to be expressive in response to frustration and stress rather than purposeful with the intention to control and dominate.'"

So women never hit men, and even when they do it's just because they are stressed out. 'It's not abusive when we do it.'

Even if her stats were completely accurate, what next? This hit piece on MRAs doesn't have any proposed action precisely because the author knows that policies based on statistics (profiling) isn't an easy position to defend. Even if men ARE statistically more likely to be the abuser, it doesn't mean that they should be PRESUMED the abusers in an individual case.
