Quote taken way out of context. He was talking specifically about men-on-women DV, and how it's never the victim's (woman's) fault. Which is absolutely true in men-on-women DV.

He also mentioned that his father suffered from "shell-shock" (PTSD) from his combat experiences, and had he been alive today they would have found treatment for him. Saying the aggressor could now, and should, get help (instead of, say, spending time in prison) is definitely a step in the right direction.

Patrick Stewart is a fantastic person. I don't think it is important to start slating the work of these people, who are clearly ignorant of the wider issues. We should be working to further advocate for correct statistics of DV to be shown, so that in the future, people like PS can actually help the entire issue, not the snapshot that they have been involved in.

I lived with a girlfriend who was addicted to extreme amounts of adderall and other prescription amphetemines. When she would run out and withdraw, she would have spouts of violent rage. There was no telling what would set her off. I was slapped, scratched, hit, and bitten until my face, neck, arms, shoulders, and legs were cut, bruised, and bleeding. I had to go to work and lie to my co-workers about ridiculous accidents that I supposedly incurred while walking through the woods to my deer stand.

Don't fucking tell me that it wasn't her fault.
