Low-key unofficial sexism in their day to day lives. Not systemic oppression, or top-down power structure a designed to "keep them down" like there's some sort of conspiracy, but more like quietly being not considered for a promotion because the man beside you is going to get it by default because your manager automatically considers him to be competent and doesn't really take you seriously for no particular reason that you deserve. And it can't be proven and it's not legal, but you can still sorta tell that it's there.

Either that, or fear. Every woman I know at some point has expressed or has had others express at them some sort of fear of walking alone at night, or going out alone, or being in a parking lot, like some boogeyman is going to jump out of a bush and kidnap them. Nobody's ever actually had anything bad happen to them, we live in a very safe neighbourhood. But they are all afraid, and it holds them back from living their lives sometimes.

Depends. I would classify your question based on legal or societal.

Legally, nothing. At least, any rights they don't have are shared by men. Objectively speaking, they have more rights than men do ( reproductive, conscription ).

Societal...that's a different question and open to interpretation. Which is not to say discrimination against women doesn't exist, I'm quite sure it does, but defining it would be exceedingly difficult. Do they face job discrimination? Maybe. I have heard plenty of business managers/owners frustrated by trying to work around pregnancies and vacancies caused by them.

Note: This is hardly "The Patriarchy"; given my industry, most of these managers are women. They're still annoyed at all the time these women want to take off, then half never go back to work.

I'm sure this creates a shitty atmosphere for the women who DO want to work in that age bracket.

Then again, these very same managers also bitch and moan about the older workers and how high they cause their insurance premiums to go. These are people who just want to see the job done, so I can understand their frustration at all these extra variables which take away from production.

Further, I think women get a fucked up deal from feminism. Look at how women who don't follow the official narrative are treated; they're ostracized. We just had that story a few weeks ago about that stay at home mom who was asking about...making her husband a sandwich or something? She got roasted.

Society is strongly feministic biased, so any woman that doesn't live to that ideal has to deal with that pressure. That can't be pleasant.

Those are just the two that spring to mind, I'm sure there are others.

The biggest issue facing women is people telling them the world is unfairly against them. And there is nothing they can do about it. And someone else has to fix it.

Think of the difference if we told women the world is a hard and difficult place but you can overcome if you make good choices, work hard and persevere.

Which one of those scenarios empowers women?

Two issues that I think women face:

On many occasions in my working life I have found myself working in predominately female workplaces and never enjoyed the gender expectations placed upon me. So I can definitely see how women would dislike the same thing - being in a mostly male work environment and be expected to do things because they are female or having limitations projected upon them due to their sex. This extends to society as a whole - gender expectations go both ways and really need to be examined.
The Modern Feminism we see today (as opposed to traditional feminism) projects a message that women are adrift in a harsh, male-dominated world, and that the only way this can be overcome is to stifle male opinion through shaming and censorship. I think this hurts everyone, but really does a disservice to women overall by taking away their power to think critically and deal with differing opinions.

Women treat each other quite harshly. Slut shaming, bullying, judging each other, it all can be quite a mess.

I also wish women had more awareness of the mood many experience due to their menstrual cycle. A woman I know ran courses for men and women about recognising and adapting to monthly cycle in women. I learned a lot from it.

Stereotype threat, and the ensuing lack of confidence that they can feel in relation to their abilities. It's possible that this may have changed in the last 10 years though. I haven't read any really recent studies.

As far as things that are legal to do while male, and illegal while female, some states forbid females from being topless in public.

The ability to have an abortion is often under attack. The ability to opt out of parenthood is something both genders should have, let's work to improve men, not drag women down.

1 in 8 women are effected by breast cancer, several orders of magnitude more than men.

STDs are noticeably more likely to be transfered M->F, than F->M.

What's the point of pants without pockets?

Women's clothing sizes are terrible. Instead of a list of measurements, it's a random number unrelated to anything. HELLO, I'm sure women would love to be able to go 'waistxinseam' just like men
