If you look up Bettina Arndt on YouTube, with Malcolm Henke, who was abused severely by his wife, you will hear Henke was called by one of these groups and told to report to them for help with HIS abusive behaviour.

No. There's nothing "subtle" or "implied" about it. There's a parallel service called Womensline which treats callers very differently. As /u/Source_or_gtfo 's links show, they literally treat male victims who call in as abusers. They assess how much danger female callers are in, and how much danger male callers cause.

Bullshit. A, that "fact" isn't. I'm not sure there have been studies for Australia, but studies of abuse for other countries have shown numbers numbers of around 60-40 to 50-50. While that would technically mean more male abusers, it's not even close to justifying the helpline gaslighting callers. And IIRC one study found that 70% of nonreciprocal domestic violence is female-on-male. I'm not sure that figure is the result of women being more likely to be abusive, though, or if it's because male victims are much less likely to hit back. And B, again from Source_or_gtfo's links, they literally assume that men who call in to report abuse against them are actually abusers who are "in victim mode."

There's something similar in the US called the "batterers hotline." Roughly 70% of phone calls by men to domestic violence hotlines get forwarded there. And roughly 20% are just accused outright of being the abuser.

So lets say you are correct (and the jury is still out if that is actually true) that men are more likely to be abusive. Even the most feminists friendly stat indicate a large percentage of women abuse their partners, do ANY of the women lines have a section for women to check their abusive behaviours, the answer BTW is NO they don't.

Then they're sexist because men are not more likely to be abusive to a woman than a woman to a man. A lot of DV is reciprocal. I doubt they'd be effective working on only half the problem.

We have a really big problem in Australia. The system is engineered to punish men by man hating feminists. Ato, childsuport, centerlink, police, media ,social scientist reports, law , its fucked up i want nothing to do with this system.
