I'm a bit concerned that the bus driver allowed a passenger to take control of the situation like that.

In my city, the one rule of the bus is you do what the driver says or the bus stops and the police come and pull you off. everyone knows shit won't fly.

[–]DavidByron2 97 points98 points99 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bus drivers who disagree with female passengers are often fired. Maybe that's why the driver felt helpless to do anything?

[–]Innomen 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's this. No one risks losing a job and then being unemployable for being branded a sexist.

[–]ShutupPussy 15 points16 points17 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. I don't know what the bus driver tried to do, but I think there's a protocol for dealing with uncooperative passengers.

She’s a bitch, those are federally protected seats. Rosa Parks is legit shaking her head.

[–]Mythandros 14 points15 points16 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And you know, it's not just women. About a week back I was taking the Skytrain to work (Vancouverite here) and this older man with a cane walked on. There was a dual seat which is reserved for those who have mobility issues, pregnant women and older people and this stubborn fucker refused to move for the older man.

The train got underway and the older man fell over. It took 5 people calling the guy an asshole to get him to move. I helped the older man up and he sat in the seat.

The asshole moved off in a huff.

I just don't understand people like this. It's clear the person needs the seat, move your dumb ass without having to be told. And keep the shitty attitude in check.

It just makes me sick.

Horrible person.

[–][deleted] 43 points44 points45 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Female entitlement lives. And what the hell is the bus driver doing sitting on his ass like that? He's the one in charge, tell her to get up or get out. As for the other men, they can't do anything as they are only men. One of the women, she should have gotten in there and dragged that rancid piece of shit off the bus.

[–]0mnica 24 points25 points26 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess being mentally handicapped, is a disability.

[–]RealSkylitPanda 27 points28 points29 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I dont think this has to do with mens rights really. Shes just a fucking bitch

[–]outdoorsybum 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree. She just seemed to not want to get up as opposed to making a verbal statement directly saying "I'm a woman I deserve this"

It seemed to be more like "I'm not doing anything for this person "

I don't speak Spanish, if there was a person who spoke Spanish and could tell me what she said in Spanish, or Portuguese, or what ever it was, I'd appreciate some context.

Nothing here says woman hates man, but it's also the ny post.

Drag that sack of shit off forcibly, just ask everyone nicely to turn off their cameras, I'm sure they wouldn't have minded.

Somehow feminists will find a way to call this manspreading.

Or just totally ignore it.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

There were other open seats.

Another important thing is that he was in a wheelchair. She knew he was disabled, but more to the point unless those buses are significantly different from the buses in my town, there is only one wheelchair lock. That means he couldn't go anywhere else and she's onligated to move.

In my 20s, I was sitting in the priority seating area defined as elderly or disabled at the time. They included obviously pregnant women later on. There were 9 women there. A pregnant woman gets on the bus and passes 6 women to stand in front of me expecting me to give up my seat. My first instinct was to do it, but then I thougt about it and said to myself why should I have to be the one to give upp the seat. There are 9 women there and she passed 6 of them up so I remained seated.

The bus made about 2 stops before one of the women offered her her seat. I don't knoiw what I would do today since she's entitled to the priority seat now. It would irritate me though if she passed several women and demanded my seat. It would probably be more irritating if she was just fat.

[–]daviddavidson29 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Isn't that sexism?

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

If she's being sexist against him, is it ok or not for him to be sexist against her?

[–]daviddavidson29 30 points31 points32 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

He wasn't being sexist. He just sat down in an open seat and stayed there. She was being sexist by singling him out based on his sex

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Gotcha. Your 3 word reply appeared to imply he was being sexist.

[–]daviddavidson29 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The answer to my question was yes. It is sexism. You just assumed I was making the guy the sexist and the woman into the oppressed.... which shows you've been conditioned to assume people are thinking the worst of the male in the situation :(

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, I'm used to the influx of troll feminists lately and you don't have a vote score from me so you're not someone I'm used to seeing. You used a vague wording. Use clearer wording and then it won't be open to interpretation.

[–]mcavvacm 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What's a vote score?

[–]wrenchinthecogs3 points 7 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I can't remember if it is specifically an RES thing since I always have it enabled, but...

When you've upvoted or downvoted another user in the past, it will show a count of how many times you've done it whenever you encounter that user later. Say I downvoted you 3 times before, it would show a [-3] next to your username even in other reddit posts.

[–]bklee83 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How is it sexist of him to not give her his seat after she passed 6 other people?

[–]daviddavidson29 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No, it is sexist of her to single him out as a guy.

[–]bklee83 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya. I would agree with that except that you can't be sexist against men. Didn't you know that?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think she wanted to say that females are handicapped 🤣🤣🤣

[–]TheMythof_Feminism -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess this means women are technically retarded?

I mean, that's what this indicates, isn't it? I'm not saying nor implying it, that's what SHE is saying.

wrong sub

[–]Imnotmrabut 27 points28 points29 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Actually NO. This story highlights how even disabled males are subjected to Gynocentric behaviours. She was African American, so was the Disabled Guy, so the race card is out.

It is also interesting how when it's convenient you will have people using the Disabled Person as an exercise in Virtue Signalling. One thing I do know. If the wheelchair user had been a women, that bus would not have left her on the sidewalk - the obstrive women would have been made to move and her internal control issues would not have been able to withstand the peer pressure of other bus users.

[–]DavidByron2 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah if there had been a guy refusing to move for a woman the passengers and the driver would have physically assaulted him.

[–]ShutupPussy 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Maybe she's just a bitch and this has nothing to do with gynocentric behaviors. You heard multiple other women telling her to get her ass up.

[–]WFINLA 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That woman didn't hate men or have an agenda. She was just an idiot.

[–]andejoh 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OK, the question is does society afford her the latitude to be an idiot that is nit afforded to men? The reason why I mentioned my experience 25 years ago is because there was differences. We could then explore the nuances.

In my town, all the buses have only one wheelchair lock and the bis driver, rather than the passenger, requests that people move. The driver then ensures the wheelchair is attached to the lock. It would probably be illegal for the driver to proceed while the chair is unsecured. That's probably why the driver asked the passenger to disembark.

If it wasn't a woman, would the driver have done what they were supposed to do? Not drive the bus and call the police.

[+][deleted] -15 points-14 points-13 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

> She was African American, so was the Disabled Guy, so the race card is out.

What does this even mean? The lad in the wheelchair was black, the refusenik was black, and I'd bet my mortgage that the woman kicking off is black. Three players: one being a cunt, one being treated like a cunt, one sticking up for the one being treated like a cunt. Tell me who's playing the race card.

[–]bigman4004 19 points20 points21 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

By "race card is out" he meant "out of play", not "out on the table".

[–]bklee83 7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya...he meant noone could claim racism was the cause of the issue.
