I think it's a personality disorder. These men typically have mental issues (like Narcissism), have a huge amounts of entitlement (expecting women to sleep with them for no good reason), there us a great deal of blame shifting (it's not my fault women don't want me, it's theirs!), and a lack of self awareness and desire to improve themselves.

Many men who are deeply misogynistic get laid a lot. I've heard locker room talk of jocks. The problem with incels is that they don't have any sexual currency.

A mixture of bullying growing up in a world where male and female gender norms are more than mixed combined with lack of male role models and making it socially acceptable to not stand up for yourself

I just had a conversation earlier today when a female friend said that she was not socialized to do x y and z and I told her that men are socialized to do x y and z because of that and so on and so forth

Men are expected to pursue an initiate and be sexual and everything else and there is no manual to teach this and combine this with a lot of pressure coming from society telling men how evil they are and how they should not do x y and z is how you get incels

it's too easy of an answer just to say that they have personality disorders or they are misogynistic.

There are some intels who identify as such simply because they have never had a relationship without any hatred of women.

I really wish women would be open to understanding men as we have been expected to understand women

I do agree that Physical attraction is a huge component of dating and life in general (Halo Effect) way more than people care to admit and discrimination based on appearence should be tackled indeed. But physical attraction being defining of dating success is really a huge blue pill anyway...
