That's normal, most people use 5 as average on the scale of 10. Being a 7 is a good thing. 7 is not low, it is above average. He even said subjectively to him, you are a 10, ie perfect. I'm baffled how you're disappointed with this. Not everyone can be a 10/10. Not everyone can even be above average. Most people are around 4-6, objectively. Being a 7 doesn't mean you're above 70% of women, it's MORE than that because the scale is a bell curve. He said you are objectively above average and subjectively PERFECT to him, but this isn't good enough? Think about how your complaint would sound to someone who's a 3 or 4, actually below average. Honestly you sound really insecure.

I can't help but think that your bf is really shallow. Is he showing you off and marrying you only because you're the hottest woman he's ever dated?

I'm personally not a fan of all these number ratings. It's just not for me. It feels really shallow. Now you want to improve yourself to get a higher rating from him. If you're already in healthy shape physically, what more can you do? You are enough. Stop seeking validation from other people. Yes, it is important to be in your best shape for yourself and your partner, and that's it. If your best self is a 7 to him, what more can you do? And has even he tried to improve himself to get to your level of 7? He doesn't even care much about himself being a 5.5 to him or to you. He doesn't even seek validation from you. That's not a healthy balance.

Men usually aren’t natural complementers like women are and can sometimes come off as brutally honest and insensitive. I’d be a bit hurt too but in his heart he probably sees you as a ten. I’d stop worrying and hurting yourself by ruminating on it.

Look up normal distribution curve; that’s how grading is done. Roughly 70% of women are rated close to 5.5. Most high value men rated Beyoncé as an 8, so get used to knowing where you stand in a competitive market.
