People like to attack men for not being as involved in their children's lives as their mothers. But the fact is, men have more hoops to jump through in order to be a father, and in order to be a "good father" by society's standards.

Being a mother is difficult. But at the end of the day, we don't attack mothers who fall behind the same way we do fathers. We also support mothers more than we do fathers.

And that doesn't even get into family court and the problem of women trying to "lock down" men through non-consensual pregnancies. Many men end up with nothing left over to pay for their own parenting costs after paying the mom child support so that she can spend more time with the kids. The mom then ends up looking like the better parent even though the father is forced to sacrifice much more than the mother for his children.

Let's stop attacking fathers and instead start asking what it is we can do as a society to help better facilitate fatherhood.
