I'm married to a combat Vet, with PTSD. So when he opens up, I listen, have sympathy and try to understand what's bothering him, why it's bothering him, and do my best to console him. He's either lost a lot of good friends to the war, or they've committed suicide. Only him and one other person are all that's left of his squad now. I do my best to comfort him when he's feeling the weight of the losses of his friends and comrades

Eh, not true in my experience. It’s always been men who don’t care either way. By contrast I’ve found women have very polarized reactions. Some of them have been incredibly kind and empathetic, while others have been vicious and mean to me when I try to express my emotions. Some flip flop between the two.

Some one said to never reveal your emotions to a woman. They will just use it against you in the next argument. I don't agree with it entirely as I have experience very compassionate women. On the flip side, I have seen women not give a shit either.
