I like how these people believe so readily that false accusations are rare and that they don't cause problems for the victims.

Over here we admit that sexual assault happens way too often and that it can be physically and emotionally traumatizing.

We're not trying to shut down the conversation about that.

But the facts and statistics don't lie; false allegations are way too common and they absolutely do ruin people's lives.

If they want people to take them seriously over there then they need to be honest about this and stop being in denial about it.

Women talking about how damage to reputation is a minor inconvenience is blind privilege.

Only a creature with no reputation to speak of could say such a thing.

I have seen no evidence of accusations severely damaging someone's reputation. They may suffer some consequences, but reputation is so resilient and varied that it's hard to damage in any permanent way. There are even cases where men have benefited from accusations and the victims have suffered damage to their reputation

I pulled this quote out from the wreckage. What the fuck is wrong with these people? Imagine a man one hundred years ago saying that no damage is done to a woman who has been publicly slutshamed, in fact, sometimes it's good for their reputation in the long run.

It's like but much worse because men can be stereotyped and cast as monstrous predators in a way that can't be done to women. It's absolutely an empathy gap and a failure to recognize real cultural gender differences to say that men are permanently damaged by a false rape accusation. The stigma of rape is gendered.

Just being skeptical but you have had all this and damages in circumsision, either extremely unlucky or just lying.
