I have a personal reason to hate metoo, and it isn't because of a false accusation. It's because when a friend of mine was abducted and raped by a college professor, they did nothing to help because he wasn't a celebrity.

All they do is use rape as a political tool to take down undesirables rather than help actual victims. Especially when ot hurts powerful people that they don't want to hurt. Or especially when it hurts supporters of metoo (like the professor was.)

Its not controversial, its common sense. Self preservation is normal human behaviour, ive got bills to pay and a family to support. Why would i risk their wellbeing? Why would i agree to have a 1 on 1 dinner with a female colleague when i can get fired if she felt uncomfortable without any evidence of wrongdoing.

Not worth the risk.

I would also add to the rules: do not mentor or coach a woman ( or Visa versa)

Do not under any circumstances say anything at all to them about their appearance.

Do not ever compliment them. Appearance based compliments are an obvious nono, but even job performance related compliments can be misinterpreted as harrassment.

Do not engage in conversations about your private lives. Pretty obvious.

Older women are "safer" to talk to than younger ones. If at all possible, hire the 50 year old secretary.

Follow those guidelines and you are much safer from a baseless attack from a career minded woman who doesnt mind climbing over a few corpses to get to the top.

Right, taking necessary precautions to avoid being falsely accused of a crime is, "controversial"

Also, if anything this helps women as well and doesn't hurt them as doing these things will make them feel safer in case they are afraid the guy will try and do something.
