"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

These people misidentify the causes of DV and of course, focus entirely on women as victims, never as perpetrators.

It's an easy excuse for the politicians to wash their hands clean instead of dealing with the actual causes.

Also, who's going to teach those boys that it's not okay for their girlfriends to control them or slap them either? Because I am pretty sure that those women will only downplay violence against men by women.

Speaking of, have they considered talking to the woman who started the first shelter for DV victims in the UK? Of course not, because Erin Pizzey was bullied out by the very same ideologues who now push to manipulate an even younger audience.

This is going to blow right in their faces.

No, brother, its going to blow up in OUR faces.

Are men and women equally violent and physically abusive in domestic violence cases? Do men and women suffer equal amount of injuries?

Fiebert et. al showed 343 scholarly articles that concluded women were as violent if not more violent than men in their intimate partner relationships.

Straus showed why this information was stifled.

How about cases with serious violence and disproportionate injuries?

That depends which demographic and which geographical area you are studying, across what time period.

Mercy, J. A., & Saltzman, L. E. (1989). Fatal violence among spouses in the United States, 1975-85. American Journal of Public Health, 79, 595-599. (Examined FBI figures regarding spousal homicides. During the 10 year period from 1975 to 1985 found higher murder rates of wives than husbands <43.4% vs 56.6%>. Black husbands were at the greatest risk of victimization. Spousal homicide among blacks was 8.4 times higher than that of whites. Spouse homicide rates were 7.7 times higher in interracial marriages and the risk of victimization for both whites and blacks increased as age differences between spouses increased. Wives and husbands were equally likely to be killed by firearms <approximately 72% of the time> while husbands were more likely to be stabbed and wives more likely to bludgeoned to death. Arguments apparently escalated to murder in 67% of spouse homicides.)

[Summary: wives killed their husbands at nearly the same rate as husbands killed their wives]

Rosenfeld, R. (1997). Changing relationships between men and women. A note on the decline in intimate partner violence. Homicide Studies, 1, 72-83. (Author reports on homicide rates in ST. Louis from 1968-1992. Findings indicate that while men and women were equally likely to be victims of partner violence in 1970, in subsequent years men, primarily black men, were more likely to be murdered by their intimate partners.)

[Summary: I.P.V. perpetrated equally, black men killed by wives more often]

Most of which is against boys

In some cases even more. Lesbian relationships tend to have more sexual assault/rape cases than gay or heterosexual relationships.

No, woman have been proven over and over to be far worse when it comes to IPV actually.

For a short while Labour looked like they were getting saner and more electable under Starmer.

Then came Diane Abacus, then the reparations lunacy. And now this.

The problem with Starmers Labour is it tries to be all things to all people even across positions that yield contradictions. All it does is make him look non committal and focused on obtaining power for the sake of itself rather than because he has a clear idea of what wielding it means.

This will never work with Labour since it was filled to the brim with progressive student ideologies. You can never reconcile the chasm that is the Labour traditional core who think that economy > all else with this newer lot who think that progressive human rights and identity politics is the core focus of the party.

Most Brits vote for parties on the basis of how that party thinks the country should be ideologically run which translates into mechanical means. The issue is a lot of British politics now focuses on telling us how we should think or feel about the people in our society.

She will do for her gender of course. Men and women have bias in favour of women and against men.

The Labour leader is a man, Kier Starmer (LHS in the article thumbnail)

[–]plumberack 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Both men and women have bias for women.

Teaching young boys that they're a problem in this world. Can only end well.

[–]Educational_Bet_6606 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Its fine that this is happening in itsrlf. What about violence against men though? It is shown in the media for over 120 years that violence by women on men is seen acceptable. Vile.

What a clown world we live in. The mainstream media is nuts.

[–]A_blue_horse 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a great idea. I'm very sure the one or two genuine psychos among those hundreds of boys are gonna turn around and say "oh how wrong I've been ill never be violent to women" yep amazing idea why didn't we think of that before
