Have you seen the looks a single father gets when sitting in a kids park with his children? No surprise that the constant gaze of suspicion has led to men saying no to teaching.

Traditionally, teachers were always men. Female teachers are a relatively modern phenomenon.

Where I live there was a case of a man working in a kindergarten. He's good with kids and has no problem with working with them. Instantly was labelled a pedo because he changed a girls diaper.

Are there any male dominated industries where the answer to the question of how to bring in more women has been to increase the pay of the men already doing the job?

I tried going into teaching in Canada, they rejected me and said I wasn't qualified. So, I joined the CAF as a pilot instead.

When I went to Primary School most of the teachers were women. But about a quarter of them (5) were men (actual classroom teachers). A friend has a daughter in Primary School now. The school has 2 male teachers: the science teacher and the sports teacher. Not one of the class room teachers are male, nor are the senior staff.

Yet teachers relative pay has not fallen compared to what it was back then. Indeed there has been a push to increase it in recent times. Pay alone isn’t the cause.

I remember wanting to be a primary school teacher at one point in my life. There were a lot of questionable looks at me for saying this, from both men and women.

I went to do some work experience at a primary school, and I remember some of the boys really taking a shine to me because I was the only male at the entire school minus the headteacher. The kids were sad to see me leave, and it is a real shame that there is a stigma that if you want to be a primary school teacher and male, you will get certainly get looks and distrust because of it.

I was blessed to have three male teachers in primary school. One was a PE tecaher, another Year 4 and the last year 5. School was a lot more comfortable because there were some male teachers. All kids deserve to have male role models at such a tender age. Its a shame that so many kids dont have that.

Men

Rumors about a male teacher saying/doing anything inappropriate with a female student, spread by an unknown and unverified source?

Immediate investigation, suspension, job loss, permanent black mark on record, very real possibility of criminal proceedings, jail time.

Doxx'd online and identified, face plastered everywhere, addresses given, family harassed, open calls for murder. Life ruined by a whisper, *assuming you're still alive at the end of it.

Even if found not guilty, being a man labelled as a predator immediately makes you a target for assault and murder for life. Full stop.

Society condones and encourages this because they do not care.

Women

Female teacher convicted of sexual relationships with underage boy in her class. Hard photographic evidence, admission of guilt, multiple witnesses and overt acts.

Society: 🦗🦗🦗 "At least she wasn't a guy."

Comments and Media: "Nice!" "What's he complaining about, I wish my hot teacher did that to me!" "Bro look at her Instagram! She's smokin!"

Far less jail time or no jail time, if convicted at all.

Because men in general, forget about them being primary school teachers, men in general are automatically branded as a threat to young children. Society has manipulated others into that kind of thought. Even myself, I once took my daughter out by myself to the park once but instead of being right next to her, I kept a bit of distance but still remind within sight. This other lady think I’m being a creep. At the end my daughter is tired and I walk her to my car but before letting her in I try to remove all the sand from her since she was playing in a sandbox. This lady comes up to my thinking that I’m being inappropriate with a little girl. That’s the thing with society. If you’re a man and didn’t do anything, people will stone you to death. But if you’re a woman and admit that you did something wrong, people will cry you a river of tears and might tell you that everyone makes mistakes.

I did tell that lady to backup though and that the little girl was my own daughter and that I’m her dad. She wanted to call the police on my thinking I’m lying, but I told her that if she needs a reason to call the police then I’ll be happy to help by give my fist to her face
