Best child custody arrangements (3 and 5)

I have 2-2-5-5. For me it was hard to be 7-7, missed my kids too much. Here is how it works for us: She gets them every Monday Tuesday. I get them every Wednesday Thursday. Week 1 she gets them Friday Sat and Sun, and continues with her M-T. Then I get them back on Wed and go through sun then it starts over again. So we each get them 7 days every two weeks, but it’s broken up. I like it- guarantees every other weekend is free for whatever I need.
My kids are 6, 12, 14, this arrangement started about 3 years ago.

I have 7-7 and love it. In the time I have them they can actually settle into routines and get used to things, if I want to travel for vacations etc. either with or without them then no special arrangements have to be made 9 times out of 10. I can buy groceries for full weeks with or without them and stuff isn't going bad because they've left the house and aren't eating it. I feel like it minimizes confrontation and negotiation which I like.

You have to do what works best for you. Personally I'm very jealous of my friend who has Mon/Tue, ex does Wed/Thur, and they alternate Fri/Sat/Sun. All holidays are on rotation, just a question of which ones were picked for odd/even years.

I'm jealous because I picked the weekend-focused rotation and it's hell trying to build a relationship when you rarely have weekends free.

7-7 here. I hate my non daughter weeks, but it's very easy for her to stay in a school/homework routine. Nice and simple to figure things out in advance and not always in a state of change.

7-7 works great for me. 2-2-3 or even 5-2-2-5 would be too much contact for me.
