After Mr Usher sued Ms Gooding over the post, she allegedly hit him with her car - twice fracturing his rotator cuff and breaking three ribs.

She has been charged over the incident and was ordered to pay Mr Usher $15,000 compensation - a figure that was included as part of the overall $280,000 sum.

So she tarnished for ever an innocent couple reputation, then seriously injured the man and no jail time? A financial compensation (she'll never be able to give) and that's it? It's great to be a woman in Australia. One more time, flip the script and see how it goes.

Edit: To top it off, Karen won't be able to pay a dime. She ruined two lives and left. Because...reasons.

Lawyers for the couple had difficulty contacting Ms Gooding, who eventually replied in a November 2022 email that she was “currently residing in a women’s shelter in North Brisbane and have no capacity to return to Townsville to attend”.

“I have no assets to my name,” she wrote.

Just saying. I went to drop off something at a school the other day. I am so afraid of those types of accusations. I didn’t even want to walk through the school alone to leave. I almost asked for someone to escort me out. But it would have been “weird” to ask so I just made a beeline. Would never have felt that way in the old days.
