For example, about a decade ago the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey reported on the lifetime prevalence of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner, focusing for the first time on victimisation by sexual orientation.

It found a victimisation prevalence of 43.8 per cent for lesbians, making it the second most affected group after bisexual women (61.1 per cent), ahead of bisexual men (37.3 per cent), heterosexual women (35 per cent), heterosexual men (29 per cent) and homosexual men (26 per cent).

To put it in a row:

61.1 % of bisexual women
43.8 % of homosexual women
37.3 % of bisexual men
35.0 % of heterosexual women
29.0 % of heterosexual men
26.0 % of homosexual men

I think we can see a rather clear pattern here...

I've seen a number of Feminists blame this on Toxic Masculinity, because the butch one is supposedly attempting to take on the role of "man" in a Patriarchal society. (and this is somehow proof that "toxic masculinity" isn't just an attack on men!)

True. Lesbian relationships have the highest levels of violence. So much about fairer sex.

Male homosexual relationships have the lowest prevalence of domestic violence. Go figure.

I will leave bisexuals out because the sex of the perpetrator is unknown. I also think that higher instances amongst this group need more exploration to determine what is going on.

DV is lowest among gays, highest among lesbians, 70% of non-reciprocal (only one partner is violent) DV is perpetrated by women.

Check out Christina Sommer's: "who stole feminism", it's decades old, but was written during the major push when all the mythology was created.

Also notable mention: Erin Pizzey, the founder (!!!) of the first shelter for the victims of DV. Guess who sent hear the death threats.
