She is angry and attorney's make money off of emotional charged up ex-wives. This isn't just your case, but pretty much every single divorce case where one side is emotional.

Acceptance. You need to accept that you will be set back years in financial resources. There is nothing you can do about it other than advocate against the destructive nature of family courts. If you have to pay a little more to get out, do it. Otherwise, the attorneys are going to make out like a bandit.

I was in your shoes for an entire year. Paid all bills, legal, household, child support while she lived off of me and dragged it out as long as possible. Getting angry or anxious isn't going to solve it. Accept that half your stuff is gone and this is the price you pay for getting married.

For the record, I was out almost $300K in legal fees alone by the time the divorce was done. Then another $75K in fighting against domestic violence charges in criminal court. Was found not guilty. No repercussions for false accusations.

Acceptance. It is was it is. You'll make it all back in a few years or 10 years. But never make the mistake of getting married again.

Push for a trial date. Your lawyer — or a good lawyer — can file a motion for a status conference, or something similar, and keep requesting that trial date. It’s the only thing that will close this financial black hole: a trial, and a final order of divorce / dissolution.

I’m sorry you are going through this. I don’t have any legal tricks or financial moves to get you out of this mess.

Here is a creative idea: a one minute apology.

Don’t confess to any crimes or, even worse, use family court trigger words like abuse neglect shove hit slap smack punch sex adultery mental health prescription medicine etc etc.

What I’m getting at is the performance of your lifetime. You could write a one minute apology and practice saying it like you’re an accomplished thespian.

This might just work to get the lawyers out of the way and settle. You might have to lie through your teeth. Ask her to help you turn a new leaf post divorce for the sake of the sweet lovely children she blessed you with.

I did this once post divorce and it worked. The situation was she refinanced the house and paid me $50k. She still owed me another $10k. I needed that $10k for the down payment on my new house.

I had stocks to sell and the agreement said I gave her 42%. My proposal was that I would sell stocks and keep an extra $10k to fulfill the balance she owed me. She correctly noted she had another 2 years to get me that cash.

I made a one minute apology to my cheater ex wife and now live in my dream house.

The best thing you can do is get into court and a trial date. You have to force a trial date at all costs. Attorneys love continuances. Force them to trial. Unless the other side has a motion in place on a topic ignore then

So when my ex wanted the divorce and i was lawyer shopping. I spent an hour with 2 different lawyers both ladies. I explained the whole thing, neither would take my case as they knew my ex was royally screwed. She cheated repeatedly, left the house, abandoned 3 kids we had etc.. forced herself back in. Then repeatedly brought random guys into the house. I had video recordings, of this, as well as several vids of her verbally abusing me and or the kids..and me putting myself in front of them to protect the kids.. Only 1 considered taking the case, and she flat out told me that if she did it would easily take years. And lots of money.. and she seemed very concerned that my ex wouldnt have full custody.. and i was seeking 50/50, and not expecting my ex to pay a dime... double standards in life.. Just expect to get screwed for a long time.. I got off lightly with paying for 40 of credit debt plus her student loans. And her being on my insurance for 7 years as she dragged it out

If you don’t like your lawyer, or you don’t agree with them fire them. Seek out other lawyers get advice
