There are lots of people in exclusive relationships and people who got married and don't have an open marriage kind of deal. In fact, the majority of people have these kinds of relationships.

Women I know closely are either in LTRs/married or single. Single single, no situationships.

Not all women are against being ethically non monogamous, I don’t know where you get that from. I think what women don’t like is the religious aspect that goes along with being polygamist (not polygamous). Also it’s not fair that men can have multiple relationships but the female partner can’t, in polygamous marriages.

The default for our animal species is one superior man mating with all the most desirable females in the tribe. The less desirable females are competed for by the less desirable men in the tribe.

To be fair, in our earliest days we did not have the words "harem" or "polygyny". We didn't have words at all. But if we did, the language most likely would have been "OG the tall broad-shouldered handsome caveman tribal leader owns all the pretty girls in tribe. He not share. Uglier men in tribe fight over girls OG not care about."

OG only cares that HIS kids get born. Because he's an animal, and he's going purely on genetic instinct. So, he's definitely not down with his cave-chick "exploring her options". OG the caveman is not "Coming to terms with, and exploring his jealousy issues, while at the same time learning to speak his lover's love language".

I actually envy those cave people. They didn't have to deal with terms like "sociosexuality" and "looksmatch".
