The misandry of saying "The saddest thing is genuine rape cases will not be believed."

I just realized how ludicrous and misandric it is to say that false rape accusations are a tragedy because "real cases of rape won't be believed."

It's a ludicrous statement because people should never believe an accusation of rape off-hand, and judicial processes should have nothing to do with people's prejudicial intuitions regarding the validity of any kind of accusation.

It's a gynocentric and misandric statement because it prioritizes the hypothetical collateral effects on women in the future over the actual damage done to men in the present; damage which has often desecrated or even ended their lives. Try flipping the statement around: "the saddest part about rape is that genuine cases of false rape accusation won't be given credence." Only solipsistic apathy or pure hatred could motivate this statement or it's reverse.

FYI, this thought was motivated by an article I read about a young woman who was a serial false rape accuser and got caught. The first popular comment below the article said "The saddest thing is genuine rape cases will not be believed." It had 20 times more likes than it did dislikes. Men's social and legal issues are starting to be seen by the mainstream, but how people think about those issues is still backward—"men and boys persecuted, women most affected."
