Why do Redditors hate incels?

If it’s something that Redditors are really good at, it’s being sanctimonious and self righteous. “Incel” is the latest gotcha insult to make someone look bad. Incels are associated with perverse and violent neuroses in popular media, alongside being stereotyped as weirdos. It’s a quick way to label someone as a loser/creep and a bad person. Redditors in general like to feel they are better than others, so calling someone a loser will make them look better. It’s very similar to how Nazi is thrown around in political discourse. It’s an insult of convenience.

Reddit in general is populated by a lot of people who teeter on the brink of being chronically single and possibly inceldom so maybe it’s a coping mechanism for some born from insecurity. I

The people who browse someone’s comment history and look for random lines or statements to pick on are usually just extremely terminally online people with nothing better to do in their lives.

Because they are easy targets to hate. People measure men's worth by their ability to "acquire" women. Male virgins, nerds, shy guys, etc., have always been bullied by normies and hating on incels is simply an extension of that.

Generally redditors try and find anything to use to discredit what you say. A few years ago it was if you posted on r/TheDonald or any conservative sub. There used to be a bot that would search your profile for uses of the n word and would comment how many times you said it (although the bot was inaccurate as it would count words like niggardly or sniggered as slurs.) They'll comb through your entire post history just to find one thing to use to discredit anything you say so they don't even have to try and refute what you say and can instead act like you're beneath them.

An incel gave a good answer to this on Naama Kates's podcast. He said something like "incels tend to be the types of people that normies picked on in grade school, and having to acknowledge their existence would mean confronting a few uncomfortable truths. 1, that they treated those people poorly which makes them look bad. 2, that their own actions prove incels right about ugliness inviting poor treatment. 3, that their actions back then mattered and could still have consequences for them in the present. They have a knee-jerk reaction to incels in order to avoid these truths."

Speaking of, did anyone else see Naama's mental breakdown on twitter recently before her account got deleted? It was really something. Hope she's alright. Also hope the podcast continues at some point.

I don’t know that they hate incels but depending on the context of the comment that prompted investigation into post history or comment history then knowing the kind of comments that person leaves gives a lot more insight into the comment that was left.

It s not hate, at least not at first, it s ego. People attach value to relationship, so when you tell them the dating world is not a meritocracy, and how genetics counts, a man is gonna think "oh so if you had good looks you would do better than me ? You think you re better than me?". A woman will think "oh so you think i m shallow ? You think you could have had me if you were good looking?"

Their answer can only be "you re wrong it s about who I/you are, it s personality, intelligence, morality, effort, merit, i deserve relationship, you dont".
