Mediocre facial appearance is not the same as poor facial appearance; Many of these men wouldn't have these girlfriends if they had ugly faces. Therefore appearance matters.

My face is average-looking, but if I were ugly, I'd probably be single. And I'm not even tall, I'm 1.72m

Ok, I’m going to attempt a good faith response here:

When a woman meets a man, he either meets her looks threshold (this means that she can possibly imagine being physically involved with him) or doesn’t. It’s binary. If he meets that threshold (which is different for everyone) he becomes a “maybe”. If he doesn’t, he becomes a “no”. A “no” is an absolute “no”, there’s nothing that will change that.

Once the “maybe” threshold has been met, things like personality, intensity of sexual attraction, intelligence, ambition, integrity, social status, social skills, values, hobbies, lifestyle etc. enter the equation. Each woman values these things (and a million others) differently.

The way that those things balance and are valued are what makes that “maybe” into either a “yes” or a “no”.

An initial “yes” can still turn into a “no” based on interactions, behavior, additional information etc.

Again, once someone is a “no”, that doesn’t change.

This may cause confusion for some men who don’t understand it. Yes, looks matter BUT only to get past the initial threshold, after that looks don’t guarantee anything with any individual woman. Yes, personality, lifestyle etc etc etc matter BUT only if you get past that woman’s initial looks threshold.

This is where a lot of the “looksmatch” folks get confused.
