"We are what we repeatedly do. Greatness then, is not an act, but a habit."

  • Aristotle

You know those people who clog the gym for the first two weeks after New Years? The ones who say "I'm going to get in shape this year! For real this time!" Then totally forget their gym membership and go back to potato chips and Real Housewives reruns? They're the ones who need to hear this the most.

If you're going to be a great man, you have to do more than just one day say "I'm going to do something BIG today."

You have to do something big EVERY day, to the point that it becomes a natural part of who you are as a person.

When people hear about my intense, four-day-a-week exercise schedule, they assume I must be disciplined and driven. And I was at first. But now that it's part of my weekly routine, it feels like nothing. It's just what I do. It's a habit. I can't imagine a world where I DON'T spend at least 8 hours a week running and lifting.

Same goes for my education. I graduated Cum Laude with a dual degree in Information Systems and Economics. That took a shit ton of work, but honestly, I don't feel like I accomplished anything. All I did was make my studies a deeply ingrained part of my daily routine, to the point that it became a habit. It reached a point where getting C's made me feel like a failure, and I'd be mad at myself for weeks. Once again, committing seriously to academics was something that became a natural part of my life.

The stoners and frat bros who were just there to party but ended up dropping out or downgrading to an easy yet worthless degree could have learned from Aristotle's words. Education isn't something you just one day up and do, it's something you have to seriously commit to, consistently and determinedly, for years on end.

Same goes for gaming women. At first, you hundreds of noobs who just subbed here (welcome, by the way) will struggle to maintain frame when you're in the presence of a 9 or 10. You're going to trip and stutter over your words, say some stupid shit, expose your inner beta, and lose the battle. But after you spend some time maintaining frame normally in all your important social interactions, you'll become a natural at it.

Something to think about. If you don't have any healthy, productive habits which are building your value as a man, get some.
