I’m not sure how I didn’t find this sub before today. I’ve been on my “MRP” path for about a year and I use Reddit as a resource for information on a lot of subjects.

I have a lot I could post about but I’ll start with perhaps my biggest mistake so far on this journey.

So the second half of this year I’ve been traveling a lot for work. I’m probably gone about 70% of the time since the summer. That wasn’t the plan but it’s how it has worked out. It isn’t sustainable and I’m working on options to change it.

So after I started traveling a lot I began cutting way back on saying “I love you” and “I miss you”. I pretty much stopped saying those things except in person. I would typically respond with light hearted deflections.

I also cut back on initiating communication while I’m gone.

It worked really well at first. I could tell I was on her mind a lot. She would be excited to hear from me.

Now she is barely calling or texting and her texts have a lot less enthusiasm. The texts are more about exchange of information. No flirtyness unless I initiate it. Things feel normal when we’re together, the issue is just when we’re apart.

I am doing well not letting it effect me emotionally but I do miss seeing her interest and enthusiasm. I’m more concerned in her apparent lack of interest than I am in how it makes me feel.

Other than this issue every other aspect of my marriage seems to be going better.

So, did i withhold too much and push her away? Or is this a shit test?

Should I ride it out or is there something I can do to increase her enthusiasm to communicate?

I’m glad I found this sub. Thanks for the feedback.
