This is a topic I began seriously considering after an ordeal my friend went through

He was with a crazy woman. They also had certain lifestyle choices that opened him up to legal scrutiny - Christian domestic discipline. During an argument she called the police and made serious violent rape allegations. He was immediately arrested and she recanted as soon as the police came to take her statement.

He still spent 40+ days in jail waiting for the legal process to let him out. And obviously it affected every part of his life.

How do yall think allegations should be handled in order to protect everyone? Im not even talking about the justice system and whether the truth would have come out in trial or not (if she hadn’t recanted). Just how arrests should be made etc when someone accuses someone else of violent rape

My friend thinks he shouldn’t have been arrested at all. But the nature of her allegations were so extreme that, if they were true, it could have been dangerous to let him be out and possibly able to continue hurting her
