Cutting is easy. Go in a caloric deficit. You can do this by reducing the amount of food you shove in your face hole, or you can increase the amount you exercise. Or you can do both. It's that easy.

Look up your TDEE here and eat less than it.

Im still a random however what they teached me while I was getting my license (B) was that 65% is about food and meals and 35% is about hitting the gym.

You want to make sure you are not eating lots of carbs in the afternoon / evening. Go with fish, chicken and some vegetables.

However carbs in the morning are fine. Water, no soft drink BS. 3L a day minimum. Heavy weights, hypertrophy. Not more than 70g sugar a day.

Basically you need to stay below your basic requirement (calories for average males ~2000 a day however without hitting the gym) there plenty of online calculators.

You said cutting weight, I’m assuming you mean fat and not weight in general which would mean you want to cut muscles as well. Keep in mind by cutting weight you will also lose a bit of your muscles mass.

If you got the time go with a split plan. Furthermore fucking plates will also help you to shred your body.

No hunger, protein stays high, constant flow of energy through the day, keep up your gym numbers and protein and muscle loss is minimized. r/keto has everything you need.

Use a calorie counter app/site, figure out your maintenance daily calorie count and cut anywhere from 200-500 calories from that, combined with cardio 3x a week.

Do what works for you. You don’t have to be as extreme as you were in your wrestling career but copy your old diet. No need to be fancy. If most people cut out obvious heavy carbs and sugar then they’ll drop weight. The modern western diet is generally horrendous.

I am not an fitness expert, but I am currently on my second cut and am easily living on a -500 to -1000 calorie deficit while still lifting. Don't know where you are at now but if you are at around ~20% you can get to 10-12% within 12 weeks, more or less. I have no clue about getting as low as 6%...that would require you watching pretty much everything you are eating and I would get freaking miserable at that point.

My routine is as follows: I fast from 7pm to 1pm. I suppress hunger with tea at night and black coffee in the morning. I take a 30 minute walk every day while in my fasted state and I lift three times a week (usually not while fasted...too tough for me). Certain days are difficult, and others go by easily. I am honestly at my hungriest when i am going to bed, however the feeling of hunger is oddly motivating, and besides when I wake up the next morning my body has adjusted and I feel fine. I eat whatever I want, though I avoid junk food as much as i can. I binge drink one night a week, but avoid beer. I eat lunch and dinner, and i will also snack in this area.

The first few weeks are tough, but once you get on an intermittent fasting schedule you'll be surprised at how easy it is to just not eat. I also never count my calories and keep a rough total in my head. I suppose I'd be able to cut the weight quicker if i tracked everything and stopped drinking but fuck that.

There are a few sample plans over at /r/leangains. I had very good success with the 31minAMA plan in the side bar. As mentioned intermittent fasting helps a lot with reducing food intake - let’s you eat bigger meals.

Cutting takes some effort up front - counting calories, weighing and cooking your own food but you can reduce the effort afterwards by eating the same meals. You can still eat out just give yourself a calorie buffer and nail your diet generally

Cutting weight too quickly can be dangerous and can fuck up your kidneys and other organs. I'm using cutting as it is used in athletic context, since you mentioned wrestling.

Or are you talking about losing weight by eating right (less)?

I'm a heavy alcoholic. I like to get drunk, and in order to do so I drink 10+ drinks to get drunk. When I'm trashed I will hit up jack n the box. For me, cutting means just quitting alcohol for a period of time. It has exponential effects.

I'm not too hungover to go to the gym and my diet is on point. I'm not absorbing extra calories from the alcohol. If I go 3 months with no alcohol, I lose 5% bodyfat.

The first step of trp is putting in work doing the reading; this could be the sidebar, different cutting routines, or the many past posts discussing workouts and fitness.

What's your current plan for cutting? Maybe we can critique it?
