He's busy for a reason, he's turning around your horrible situation as you stated. Your job isn't to get attention and time from him right now, your job is to be a cheerleader for him and support him succeeding in his endeavors. Will conflict and problems with his gf help him and get you what you want? 2 hours a day is a lot of time to ask for with someone, especially when they're busy and working hard.

Take this as an opportunity to build more independence, get more hobbies and more friends, find things to fill your time. Relationships will sometimes have times of material struggle, he's sacrificing so that you two can build a life together, find gratitude in such.

I barely spend two uninterrupted hours a day with my husband. This is a huge and unreasonable ask for someone you admit is incredibly busy.

Talking two hours a day virtually is not going to appeal to most men (I’m a woman and I couldn’t do that). Do you even have enough stuff to talk about for that much time?? The phrase of absence makes the heart grow fonder is a little bit true and women’s desire to be in constant contact is their desire to control the relationship and therefore feel secure. But the self-confidence needs to come from within you. You don’t want to become boring and annoying to him, so a little distance actually will make him miss you more.

Full text: Hello everyone, long story short, my boyfriend and I are in our early 20s, we’ve been together for over one year, I’ve gone through some of the materials of this reddit sub and I know about submission and I pretty much let him come to me, but he’s constantly busy. I know he’s trying to work and turn around our horrible situation into us living together, but it’s getting frustrating as we’re barely spending anytime together. Today he hasn’t texted me at all, but usually he calls me like 4-5 times a week for 30-40 minutes, sometimes an hour todays like 10:30pm or sometimes 9:42pm and then he’ll send me a couple of texts in the morning with no replies to my messages, and if he can’t call he doesn’t text when we agreed he should also text too. It’s really frustrating me and we’re having horrible communication problems, I haven’t been able to discuss with him about any of this, but tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and I’m going over to see him, but I’m struggling so much with lack of communication in our relationship and I want him to spend more time with me, even if it’s online, maybe 2 hours a day? It would make me feel so good and I wouldn’t be ungrateful. Am I asking for too much? How do I get us to communicate more? Thankyou everyone in advance :)
