My ex contracted COVID earlier this week and so our (4.5) is staying with me as the ex recuperates. Our daughter is also sick, but with a flu instead. Anyways, we share custody, I have her 3 nights a week.

Today my ex sends me a message asking to have a call with our daughter. Our daughter has not asked for mom and actually gets delighted to know she is spending more time with me.

My ex and I have not spoken directly in two years, only writing via our parenting app. I am very reluctant to facilitate a call for several reasons. Its less than a week since our daughter seen mom, she has not asked for her, mom will expect this every time daughter is away for a couple days more than usual, it will no give her an excuse to meddle during my time. (Mom will get makeup time).

Would like to hear other guy’s thoughts on this situation. We are going to trial later this year.
