Just downloaded tinder again after cutting the apps for 2 months or so to focus on me. Got the usual 2 likes you get and figured ehh time for bed nothing has changed. Brushed my teeth and opened tinder to pointlessly swipe and boom I had 7 likes… WHAT? How? I was amazed. It had only been 5 minutes. I swiped and got two matches. The app showed me 4 of the girls that liked me. 2 were not attractive the other two were more interesting, I consider them attractive and attainable women. My mindset was through the roof. I felt like I could go and talk to any woman tomorrow IRL when I go out to the store, to get gas. To do whatever. I WAS MOTIVATED.

That faded so fast once I realized that this high I got was from the approval of others. It didn’t come from within my own being. My brain was tricked into these thoughts by technology, not my own ideas. In other words, I accidentally used tinder for validation and I now understand why and how so many women fall into this trap. It’s a vicious cycle that gives you moments of happiness and validation that you “actually” matter then pulls it away when you don’t see the number getting any bigger after 2 minutes of swiping. Anyone have any comments on this? Is this something that happens to others? How badly did this just mess up my brain?
