Are you really asking us if opening a sweatshop is ethical? English is not my first language, so I had to look up the definition in Wikipedia:

A sweatshop or sweat factory is a crowded workplace with very poor, socially unacceptable or illegal working conditions. Some illegal working conditions include poor ventilation, little to no breaks, inadequate work space, insufficient lighting, or uncomfortably/dangerously high or low temperatures.

If this is what you have in mind, why are you surprised with the answers from people telling you you are selfish? Seriously lol.

There are ethical companies that open factories in second/third world countries and actively promote good working conditions. I know one from my country (Spain), and I think they have factories in Bangladesh.

But they have very strict rules about promoting good working conditions, AND THEY WOULD NOT BE CALLED SWEATSHOPS. They build real factories.

I live on a third world country. OP is not a piece of shit, he is creating jobs and improving the economy. If you want your girl to approve your plan, just let her know it will be all inclusive and that you will try your best to mantain a healthy/productive workspace.

So this is a good example of life situations. We all change and our partners change and sometimes, while we may have been really good together earlier, we find later in life we need different/conflicting things. This is going to happen with any long term relationship where you will be faced with something that you never wanted or signed up for. So you all need to sit and talk. Have multiple conversations. The first one just lets her know the issue. Then give her time to think about it and then have a follow up conversation. The question is, will one of you be willing to change. You don’t have to. What you each need is to be able to move forward without feeling regret or resentment. So only agree to something is you can be happy with your decision.
