26m here. Had a decent number of matches and would always start by giving the option of either:

1) playing a game of ‘2 truths 1 lie’

2) skip to date

Those who were open to go on a date would say so right away; those who preferred the game, after a few messages would almost always agree to the date.

It really doesn't matter what you say as long as you are conveying value but in a way that conveys comfort. That's the technical way of saying be a high value guy but don't be an a******. If you follow those guidelines you will be fine although that is the most simplistic way possible to sum it up.

To put it even more simply it's not what you say it's how you say it.

Start by asking them something playful, like

‘Hey X, you causing much trouble tonight?’

This usually gets a response, then it’s up to you to navigate and keep it light hearted. Make sure you are exciting to talk with since most guys on tinder are just asking ‘where are you from’ etc. you wanna stand out from the crowd. But try not to filter yourself too much, just speak how you’d speak to a friend and if they respond, cool. If not, cool.

If you really get that much matches, it doesn't really matter what you say. The matches prove that you are somewhat attractive and if a girl is interested, she will not be gone after the first message was not what she would've expected.

ask her about herself. absolutely do not say: whats up, hows it going, hey how are you, youre pretty, i like your _____. they get 10 of these a day and its quite literally not a way to start a conversation. once she knows youre interested and can hold a convo without being a perv or weirdo, she'll agree to a date or at least coffee.

So I have a view on this one, my friend really struggles with the ladies and had a truly awful dating profile. So I wrote him a profile and he started getting matches.

So I thought his problems were solved. But no, his lovely but Asperger’s self still managed to achieve a cock-block despite now getting matches.

I did consider doing the chat for him, but it would just end up in some girl being disappointed on a date. Tricky really.
