Lately, I tried giving them my number for a change and asking them to ping me. Never got any calls or messages from most. This way, I weed out the one's who are interested and the one's who aren't without simping or showing desperation.

Use whatever form of communication is typical for your generation/culture. Number, snap, insta, etc... It doesn't matter as long as her phone buzzes when you message her.

Sometimes she'll offer her contact info, but you should never wait for that. When you get to a point where you want her info, ask for it. It's that simple. You are the leader of the interaction, so you decide when to ask.

So, when you ask for the number that is a big commitment that you are offering. Your asking her to give you contact from now until you are done talking to her, if that means a relationship or not is something that you both haven't decided yet.

Instead I would set up the next encounter while the first one is still happening. So let's say you meet someone at a grocery store. You hit it off and now it's getting time to part ways, she mentioned that she likes art or something. You say hey i happen to be going to a museum with some friends later this week would you like to join?

Nighttime is a completely different animal, just go for the f-close. If that won't happen for whatever reason then you can say, hey after this bar my friends and I are going to a kebab shop that has the best kebabs, wanna come? Keep the night going as long as possible.

If you talk to a girl because you like her and would like to see if she's a good fit, it makes 0 sense to not try to close and propose to get the number to see her again.

I make the first time meeting a date in a sense. Spend a good amount of time building rapport, escalate, and give them a Rollercoaster of an experience. Most of the time she will attempt to get my number. It lowers the number of flakes significantly. Also get the number in the last 3/4 of the interaction rather than the absolute end. I've found that this makes it more likely for the woman to want more of the experience.

I've been on the not getting the number game for a while. I live in a big city with a small time feel so a lot of times I end up seeing them again if they are the partying type. Limiting the amount of approaches you make, noticing and acting on Indicators of Interest, and investing more into the interactions lowers the flake rate significantly.

I think you should always ask for their contact information if you're interested. Sometimes they may offer it to you, but I think most women would expect you to ask and be a leader.

I don't see a problem asking for a number. Women who are legitimately interested (and not being nonconfrontational) will give you their number.

If they're giving you anything else, then they are screening you or guarded.

Asking for/Giving a number should be a natural way of things, you want to spend some more time together in the future because your initial connection was so fun and smooth. Ideally, you should make the girl chase you and make an effort to get you, but it's also fine to take the matters in your hands too, especially in the beginning.
