When I reflect back over the potential, shortlived, and failed romances, I realise that I've suffered from the George Costanza curse - whenever I've been infatuated with someone there's always been a catch (they move cities for work, their brother passes away two days before our date, they turn out to be devoutly religious, they turn out to be emotional wrecks with unprocessed trauma, or they're not interested in me, to name a few real examples) - on the flipside of all the women I've had express interest in me, I haven't found myself sexually attracted to any of them.

In the course I'm studying I've had 2 girls ask me out to coffee, and they're lovely people but I'm just not attracted to them - meanwhile when I finally ask out the girl I've been interested in she tells me she's about to relocate to a city on the other side of the country in January so she's not interested in meeting anyone here.

It's almost a joke at this stage.

But I just can't bring myself to lower my standards - there's no point being with someone you're not real attracted to right.

I know I could've been born with HIV in a war ravaged village in northern Africa, but it's still frustrating as hell.

This is just me venting.
