Girl I meet a few weeks ago. We live about 3 hours away (Yes, I know. Long distance shit. Those present their own issues, but I'm not that far into this to worry about that yet & it's not the topic of this post).

We hit it off well. Really, really well. So I am open to giving this a shot. Text pretty much everyday. Had 4 phone calls on Snapchat so far. Probably talked for around 10 hours total. Our conversations are a mix of flirtatious and wholesome and we have this cringey thing where we apologize to each other whenever we feel like we stepped over the line with the shit talking. She's definitely more assertive than I am, and I could probably afford to be a little less soft. She likes to tease me about being almost too sweet sometimes. Am also a late bloomer, so there's that.

But then things started getting weird like 5 days ago...

SATURDAY NIGHT -

She called me on Snapchat and immediately hung up, sending a followup messaging that said "So sorry, meant to call someone else.". She said she accidentally rung me up. But when I messaged back, she then engaged me in texting, responding to almost all my messages immediately for a good 20/30 minutes. She told me she was in a phone call with someone while talking to me at the same time. After about 20/30 minutes, I told her "Alright, I'mma let you go. Gonna do some reading. Enjoy your call."

SUNDAY NIGHT

Towards the end of a 2 hour phone call with her, our dialogue went like this:

HER: "By the way, this might sound rude, but I kinda have a date tomorrow. So don't text me around 7 p.m."

ME: "Sure, no prob."

HER: "We'll talk Tuesday....Well, I'm meeting with people then too. And then Wednesday, Thursday, Friday I work until 10, so..."

ME: "It's cool. We always figure something out. We usually text anyways."

We then parted ways with a goodnight.

MONDAY NIGHT

She messages me at almost 7 p.m. on the dot, saying -

HER: "You can text me if you want. There is no date."

ME: "No can do, chief. Had dinner with my uncle & hanging with him atm."

HER: "Alrighty. Talk to you whenever."

ME: "😊"

We have not had contact these last 2 days....because I don't want to be That Guy who is too available. Granted, she hasn't reached out to me either.

I have a few questions:

  • Is it a bad sign when a girl tells a guy about an upcoming date? Do women tell men they're interested in about a date the next day? Could she be hinting that she's losing interest & by further mentioning that the entire week is basically not good for her to talk, it's her way of letting me down lightly?

  • Is she testing me, to see if I'm too available/jealous?

  • Is she using me for attention?.....Possibly having lied about calling me by "accident" and about having a date last night?

  • Did I PASS her shit tests (if she was testing me)?

  • Would it be a bad idea to shoot her a message tomorrow night?
