One thing that I'm struggling with is just the way your social life starts changing around 25; not nearly as many large house parties or parties at all! On top of it all, most of my male friends have a fairly steady girl they're seeing and are dropping out of the going out and looking for girls scene.

What are the best ways to push myself forward in this situation being a person who had trouble hooking up even in the days of more and bigger random parties? Where are the best places to get to know some girls? The cold pick-ups sound great, but I've only managed to have the confidence and clear mind to do it a couple times. What I would much prefer to do is be able to put myself into situations where I am meeting girls and getting to know them over a few weeks to build the attraction. So seddit? Give me some advice on meeting some girls and keeping an active social life when so many of my friends are coupling up!

EDIT: Ignore the surviving part; it's not about surviving the depression of being single but more about the best ways to live life in the situation I'm in - the story is just for the context.
