We all have our reasons to get into pickup/self help. 2 months ago I felt completely lost in life. I ran into a youtube video talking about pickup and self development. I quickly was allured into the world of self improvement as well as pickup. I've been reading up on both subjects extensively over the past few weeks. Only recently I've started to put some of the knowledge I gained and applied them.

I started actually listening in my psychology class about developmental behavior, and realized some key points.

1) We are all socially conditioned from childhood to exert certain behaviors.

2) Many developmental Issues stem from early life (Childhood)

3) Unlearning socially conditioned behaviors takes time

This led me to look back at my earlier years and in doing so I realized the reason why I've been so fucked all these years. My childhood was pretty rough and growing up feeling neglected has done more damage that I have previously thought.

Looking back recently I have just felt a sense of helplessness. I could see why I’m so troubled in things I shouldn't be. I've developed a sort of mental disorder, among other things, because of the trauma I've been through.

This post is getting longer and longer, so let me get to the point. Is there any advice that you have to help me push through despite all the circumstances?

I want to update all of you out there

These past few weeks have been one of the most mentally challenging and life changing experiences I have ever been through. What I had long past avoided in my life came to the surface, and I was mentally forced to resolve it.

I went back and talked to the closest people in my life and told them about the demons that had haunted me for years. I truly felt that I had hit rock bottom, I had constant anxiety that would last several days that would distract me from functioning in school and in life. I felt an intense stress and bursts of panic attacks that I had never experienced before. I would sleep stressed out and would wake up with an even deeper anxiety. I knew I had to resolve the conflict that I battled or it would eventually consume me.

One of the hardest things I knew I had to do was to reach out to people who had the most influence in my life. They responded positively and encouraged me to take things easy for a bit. I completely threw out bad eating habits and have eaten healthy ever since. NO more fast food, no more soda, eating vegetables and fruits everyday. I started making changes in my life in terms of how I interact and treat people (Thanks Pickup community and self help) and using this knowledge, with the help of those supporting me, I feel like I am a new person.

I want to thank each and every one of you out there who cared enough to leave a reply to my post. I read each and every single one and took it to heart. I want you to know that I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for you. Hell even just leaving a comment gave me hope that random people that I may probably never meet in real life care for someone like me. I am starting to feel better as a whole. So I would really like to thank every single one of you. What I experienced could have been much worse had it not for those of you out there.

THANK YOU!!
