I'll keep this short, because it's really probably a boring read. I'm new to seddit, and new to night game in general. I just got out of an LTR and all of a sudden I'm old enough to go to bars! I've been reading seddit a lot over the last several weeks, and after a week-long warmup that involved calling lots of old friends and talking to complete strangers on campus, I took the plunge. I'm a bit of an introvert, an engineer with a couple of close friends but not much of a social life.

Last night I met up with a girl I had maybe met once before, years prior. Probably and HB4 or 5. It was her 22 run. I was invited by Facebook event, and the guest list was rather small. Not sure why I was on there, but a birthday run seemed perfect for my first foray into the PU game.

The bar I met them at was dead. Literally myself, BD girl, and two friends, both HB6's in my book. I started off strong, introducing myself to BD's friends, made dumb jokes that got some laughs, talked to the bartender and scored a drink on the house, told a random story, etc., just general DHV stuff I'd read about on seddit, Magic Bullets, etc. During all this my good friend from work shows up (I'd texted him; honestly I was a little freaked out with hopping with three chicks).

We leave the bar and I start focusing on the blonde HB6. We talk about school and random bullshit and I get a small opportunity for some kino when she slips on the ice and I steady her. I haven't been drinking much, she seems a little buzzed.

Next bar is a classy grad-student-ish place. We grab a table. There are bookshelves on the wall behind us. I reach behind me and grab one at random - it's a 1971 Encyclopedia Brittanica. I took this opportunity to invent a game: try to find something dirty given the alphabetical range of a volume chosen at random. Blonde HB6 is sitting across from me and definitely digging the game, I keep catching her eye.

We head upstairs to play some pool, and I lag behind. After taking a few deep breaths, I open up my set ever - three girls sitting and listening to the band, drinkless, looking rather bored. I ask them if they want to play pool; there are five in my group, and three more would even things out. They agree and come upstairs. The girls were an HB5, 6, and 7. It's now me, my friend from work, and 6 girls!

Pool was an awesome opportunity for Kino with the HB6. We flirted for a couple of games... trying to distract each other on each other's turns by touching, getting in the way, etc. She keeps saying I look like her ex. I mean, she's brought it up more than is reasonable so I say the most ridiculous thing I can think of: "Well I actually am your ex; I've changed a lot, and I want you back." My buddy from work spit his beer everywhere laughing. I'm not sure how HB6 took it. Doesn't matter though - shortly after I find out she has a boyfriend. Not from her, but from her friend. Yeah, I know I'm not supposed to care, but for my first time out, I don't want to get my ass kicked. I back off.

I chat with the HB7 a little a bit. She seems like a cool person but her friends want to leave. Didn't get a chance to get much past qualifying... oh well! The group falls apart; people took off to go home or to other bars. I somehow ended up walking BD girl home. We chat and kino, and she invites me to stay the night (prefaced by "I hope this doesn't sound too trashy..."), but I'm not particularly interested so I decline and walk home.

Okay, sorry, that was far longer than I was expecting. Nothing spectacular at all, but for me, this far exceeded my wildest expectations. I was (am) fucking elated right now, and I have seddit to thank!

TL;DR:

First attempt at bar game was really fun and successful. No closes, but learned a lot.

Things I used/learned:

  • All the DHV stuff I mentioned (or was some of it more social proof? I get the two confused
  • This shit can be done drinking only one or two beers!
  • Kino escalation and all the IOIs that led me to escalate with the HB6
  • Opening up a set of strangers and overcoming large amounts of last second AA
  • Saying ridiculous stuff in situations that crop up; thinking on my feet

Things I'm wondering about:

  • Anybody else randomly ask a bunch of girls to play pool? It's not the opener I had in mind but it just sort of fell out
  • Girls with boyfriends who omit this piece of information - what to do?

To all my fellow noob sedditors, I am the last person that I expected to have any luck with girls in bars. If you are reading this but you've never tried it, just swallow your pride and put yourself out there, and there's a chance it could turn out really well! For everyone else, feel free to downvote this into oblivion :). I'm going out tomorrow night and I promise I'll be back with a close FR of some sort.
