You can do anything you want. It's the same thing as normal day game. You can talk to a girl while the train is empty or packed full of people, it doesn't matter. You can open direct -- Hey I think you're cute -- or indirect -- Hey how do I get to X, Y, or Z?

But that's NOT the problem. The problem is to be engaging and creative. Like in ANY day game situation, hit her attraction switches, and she'll be entering her number into your phone in no time.

I've done this a lot on the train -- SF BART, Boston T, and NYC Metro.

It's no different than "bus game," "plane game," or "Amtrak game." You have to approach it with complete outcome-independence. You have to be friendly. I try to be playful. If you look like a creep from the get-go, your chances are slim. If you're dressed well-enough and don't look like a bum, you should be ok most of the time. But you have to know ahead of time that most people will be closed-off.

So if you can, find a girl who doesn't look like she'll slap you in the face as soon as you speak to her. And don't get frustrated when the girl's a bitch- if she is a bitch, try to get her to open up (if she's really a bitch, let it go).

I try to open situationally- something about the environment, or about her, or about where I'm headed or she's headed. The easiest thing you can do is try to make some off-hand comment (like something you might mumble to yourself, but directed at her). Imagine you're riding the train with a friend, and she's the friend. That's usually the quickest way to get friendly with her. I'll be talking to other people too, if the situation calls for it.

If she's really closed-off and you don't think you can take it further, don't worry about it.

Not much chance on a train... Unless it's relatively empty, even then, a girl's creeper alert is on high.

If there are groups of 2 or 3, and they're having fun, your chances are much better.

My approach for a single HB on a train would be to do the "lost tourist" routine. e.g., you're supposed to meet a couple of friends at a place <name nearby fun well-known place>, in 2 hours. But aren't quite sure how to get there. When she gives directions, "How do I know you're not messing with me?" smile, simple reassuring kino "You should come with me, tour guide -- don't worry, I'll kick you out when it's time for me to meet George and Fred (they're screen-writers from <important/fun city>)." laugh

I used to ride the metro in Montreal a lot and could generally close a girl. The only times it didn't work was when I was really being a creeper, ie: trying to get a k-close before we leave the train etc. Keep a positive attitude, make it light nothing serious, tease and have fun. No outcome dependence or desperation. Point is to keep yourself and her entertained while you are in the social isolation of a train. Make good use of body language to not telegraph too much interest. And yes, if a girl has defensive body language and a negative attitude don't push it too far. No point in ruining your attitude to try and please someone.

Montreal metros had all kinds of fun things going on, like pantsless car, party car, discuss something with someone car, etc.

I feel your pain, I am on the train for 3 hours everyday. I catch a lot of peak hour traffic. I refuse to approach once on the train, cause I don't want to experience 1-2 hours of publicly watch awkwardness if it fails. However, I've done the 5 minute set on platforms. Usually with a girl going the other way. It's a bit hit n run, not super successful. But At least your approaching. You just have to deal with a lot of people with nothing to do listening in.
