I have been a chunky dude for...well, forever. Mt friends describe me as a thinner, more handsome John Candy. A real looker, right? When I stumbled upon this sub, I really thought that none of this would apply to me due to my appearance.

Fuck that.

As a big guy, I knew my only way to get attention was to be the brainiest, smartest, quick witted dude in my social circle. I was talking to a buddy of mine tonight about this, and he agreed. He said that looking back at us through high school, he always had an advantage due to his looks. However, he also noticed a reversal in roles as we aged. Due to my appearance, I had to find an alternative route to get attention. This sounds extremely juvenile, and it is, BUT this is what so shocks and amazes him now. As the centre of attention, I learned how to pull strings in people. I learned how to make them laugh, or angry. Sad, happy, excited. All of this. It was from building my social awareness. I think a lot of bigger guys are the "funny friend" that makes any situation entertaining. It is natural for us. The best part is that this same concept can make you alpha of ANY SOCIAL GROUP. So, to my chubby brothers out there, realize the gift you have, and utilize. We ain't chubby, we're cuddly! Good luck.
