Hey seddit, brand new subscriber. I was inspired by all the incredible game I read about here and decided that I definitely need some practice.

An assignment for class requires that I bring a magazine that inspires. I picked up a copy of GQ this morning and head to the uni's library to read it. I go find a quiet place next to a very cute 7.

Here's where my social anxiety almost killed me. Instead of sitting right next to her, I panic and sit one seat away. Regardless I start flicking through the magazine while she sits on her computer listening to her headphones.

I try to think of something to say to open with her and halfway through the magazine I see a picture of rapper J. Cole. I definitely see an opportunity, and go sit in the seat next to her and open with a question.

"Do you like rap? " this is an easy one, we're both black and the chances that she'll say no are usually rather low.

me: "What do you think about this guy? " pointing to the picture Her : I LOVE J. Cole! I saw him once at [random school name]

Score. I'm locked in and ask her who her favorite rappers are..

"Common, Kanye West... " By total luck I happen to be wearing a Kanye shirt, win.

me: "So what are you typing?" Pointing to her laptop her: "it's a speech for my sex ed class, I'm going to talk about how sex is taught in jr high, high school, and college. " smiles everywhere

Me: "So you're going to be demonstrating some advanced techniques right? " more smiles Me: "I like your smile, your nose wrinkles up, it's really cute " (something I picked up from here)

We go on back and forth I show her some drawings and tell her stories, basically sounding more interesting than I realize I am. She's loving the convo, a move in with some kino when I mentioned something about a midterm exam I could help her study for in that class.;)

She says she has to get going to class so I #close by saying I'll keep bothering you in class with texts about a physical test.

I was completely nervous at first, and sweat like a pig when I approached. But all things went well and I made a new friend. Seddit, I love you.

Any pointers in increasing confidence and sharpening my game?
