First, I usually put clear plastic tarps over all my furniture, as well as a similar clear plastic jacket.

I also cover my floor with the style section of the newspaper.

Then, I put on Huey Lewis and the News and ask what they think of it. I think they came into their own in 1983 with Sports, both commercially and artistically.

Then I "make my move".

It depends on how much sexual tension you've built up up until that point. If you were making out at a bar, just straight caveman that shit she already knows the deal. If you are being an AFC and have very little sexual tension built up, use body language and kino escalation to signify your intentions; don't be afraid to push the envelope.

My usual process, which works probably 90% of the time once the girl is there:

Get her a drink (keep booze in your house at all times), chat, sit close to her on the couch. Bodies should be touching. Put on some music, maybe. Show her something interesting in the house if you want...a poster or whatever.
Start making out, maybe putting your arm around her for a bit first or playing with her hair. Ideally, you've already been doing this in the bar/club where you met her. But either way.
If no one's there (much preferred), you don't have to go through the awkward point of going into the bedroom. She might back out at that point, although it's never happened. So, just hit it on the couch if you want.
If someone's there (friend or whatever), give her a "tour" that ends in the bedroom. She knows what you're doing. But she's there at your house for a reason, so she doesn't mind.

As a former AFC who only recently discovered his game, my guitar is the perfect wingman once a have a girl at my place. I'll sit next to them on the couch/bed and play and sing for several minutes and you can just watch their attraction build and build. You don't even have to sound particularly good; just get into it and they will too. Then lock eyes and bam you're making out. I realize that's pretty specific and I'm not saying everyone should learn guitar, but dear God girls love it.

Steps:

Get her to stand up.

Start kissing.

Put her hands around your shoulders.

Put your hands around her waist.

Start kissing more.

Rub her waist and slide your hands underneath the back of her shirt.

Kiss kiss kiss.

Move your hands away, then back again and go further up her back.

Kiss kiss kiss.

Move your hands so far up that her shirt starts coming off.

With the shirt off, move your hands behind her pants.

Kiss kiss kiss.

Slide them around until you get one button undone. She might resist, so put her hands back around your shoulders, and your hands by her waist again. Repeat the hands behind her pants.

Kiss kiss kiss.

If the button and zipper are undone, go quick and just yank the pants off with a smile/laugh.

At this point she might start wanting to take your stuff off. Don't do it for her; make her do it.

Kiss kiss kiss.

Bra, unhook it, and just leave it. You could go take her to the bed/sofa at this point. Kiss some more before taking it off.

Get her in a lying position, makeout some more, then slowly put your fingers behind her panties. If she's comfortable with this, get down and yank em off.

By this time, she knows what's up. Makeout, start kissing her everywhere (neck, ears, around her breasts), take her hands and lead her around your body as you do the same with her (legs, arms, back, butt). Tease her until she says she's ready. You could try going down on her first and waiting until she says she's ready.
