Actually, I disagree to a point. I accept a little baggage and due to the fact that more than half of marriages end in divorce, I rarely use that as a barometer. I am divorced too, so I understand that.

I'm looking for a partner in life and I am more interested in how we vibe together than any of that petty stuff. Maybe I'm different than most men, but I don't hold it against a woman that she has travelled a rocky road to end up where she is.

The caveat to that is that if a woman blames her lot in life on her ex, 'Well if my ex hadn't..." or "My ex ruined my life because..." or any other myriad of excuses then I think she is a whiner and isn't worthy of my time. But that is a massive character flaw in people. That has little to do with their past relationships, and could be a main reason that they are single.

This is interesting and I agree on a few points but want to put thisout there. This has been my experience... and I'm honest enough to admit it might only be a fabrication/rationalization on my part:

childless young women are unattached. Being married doesn't dissuade them from cheating (after the honeymoon period is over). Kids usually do.
divorced childless women and empty-nesters eventually raise the bar
divorced women with kids eventualy lower the bar, sometimes too far
never-married, physically attractive women over 30 seem to be married to something else, whether it is their career/education, their dreams/habits/hobbies, their family, or their friends doesn't matter - they're essentially unavailable
I'm not contemplating unattractive women, that's a totally different situation
