Hey I just recently broke up with my girlfriend and was curious about what everyone's thoughts/experiences are in regards to partying (particularly at college). I haven't been single for a while (even when I was I was pretty shitty at picking girls up) so it's kind of good and bad; gives me a blank slate to develop my style and strategy on. I'm working on my confidence and trying to improve myself a bit but my main issue seems to be the approaching. Closing is not TOO bad for me but I could use tips.

  • What do you think about amount of alcohol consumed? Is there some magical middle ground where you're not too sloppy and not too anxious? (Personally I like to get really fucked up which means I risk coming off as sloppy but I get socially anxious sometimes and the alcohol helps; plus being fucked up is fun!)

  • I'm not sure what to do while dancing? Should you talk at all? I'm finding that you can just be like "let's get out of here" after grinding for a while but I'm not sure to what extent this is true (the only person I've tried it on and it worked on was less than desirable).

  • Any tips for what to say when conversation dies down? And for non-threatening sexual conversational content? Or is that just something you have to get a feel for?

  • Tips/comments on opening and initiating dancing would be great. My strategy only works in really crowded areas and is not optimal in my opinion; basically walk around and girls who want to dance will not shirk away from contact as much (especially since there's so many more guys than girls where I attend) and it seems to work but unfortunately it works on HB's that are less desirable than I would like... (though this is not always the case)

I hope I was consistent with rules (first post here), hopefully this will actually help some people out (myself included). Also, this is kind of left field but I'm also curious what people's stances are on hooking up/dating/friendship and how PU related to all them but that might be a topic for another post or something.
