I find the best way to get attention is to show no restraint on the dance floor. Give it all you've got, and do goofy moves if you want to get some laughs. Also, clear some space and have a dance battle with your friends. Go into the middle and do your best moves while your friends cheer you on. This will definitely illicit positive responses from females around you. That's all the farther I've ever gotten though.

I'm a competitive latin dancer. I'll tell you that when it comes to asking girls to dance, you still have to talk to her, you still have to ask her to dance.
